The Portage Bay Cafe came highly recommended by a local co-worker. Being a sucker for big American breakfasts, I had to try it. Luckily I came by myself and had a place at the counter after only 10 minutes - and with great company! On a Saturday around 11, that's not very common. If you come in a group, you... More

Get there early on the weekends as this place gets busy very fast! This open concept eatery has something for everyone! Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. The food is fresh and paired well with other items. There is a variety of items to choose from your regular breakfast/brunch items to experimental items. Portions are plentiful so make sure... More

Different, waitress was wonderful, food was very so-so and cold. Pricey, but Organic! 😞 Sorry don't think I'll do that again.

I went there for lunch with a friend. This place has breakfast all day. There is also a very good selection of sandwiches. I had a Cuban. Very well made, excellent ingredients and very well priced. It was a great experience.

We've been to the U district Portage Bay and loved it, but this SLU location of the cafe was not as impressive. Made reservations on line for our Sunday brunch and they got us in pretty much on time. Service was slow, staff was extremely busy with the crowded restaurant. Waiting room was packed. Had Phil's breakfast, Migas special and... More

Super delicious omelets, hash, French toast and pancakes! The French toast and pancakes include a trip to the fresh fruit bar with over a dozen choices of fruit, nuts, whipped cream, and other toppings. Huge portions, really shared by at least two people. Go early or expect to wait at this and the U-district location.

I eat here every time I visit Seattle! The food is amazing and the portions are very large! So good and worth making a reservation for!

Portage Bay used to be my favorite brunch spot. I've been very disappointed recently with the service and quality of the food. I made a reservation online and still had to wait 30-40 mins for a table. I ordered the Pork Belly Benedict and the pork belly was very dry. The herb roasted potato had a thick chewy skin, which... Be sure and come hungry. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The Oatmeal serving was perfect when shared with another person. I had Swedish Pancakes and was able to go to their "fruit bar" to add blueberries, strawberries, whipped cream, and nuts to them. The Bar was included with some entries. Great atmosphere and good service.... More

The cafe is quite large at this location, it might get busy at peak hours but generally there's always a few tables that are available. The menu is perfect for breakfasts: from pancakes to omelettes, using seasonal organic produce that comes from local farms. Kids will love the breakfast table which is basically a table with tons of toppings you... More
