We were staying in a B&B close by, so we tried most of the local bars and restaurants during the week or so we were there. This was our favourite - it's not specially well decorated, but the food is reasonable and tasty, the atmosphere is cozy and the beers good. The servers were friendly and efficient and made us... My wife and I stopped in for a casual dinner while in the neighborhood. She had a special, I had their goat cheese salad with added chicken breast, plus a glass of wine. Solid service, solid food.

I have eaten at 74th street on several occasions and have enjoyed it each time. The menu is much different than I expected it to be when I walked through the doors for the first time. There is an interesting variety, and everything I have tried so far (fish tacos, black bean burger, tuna melt) has been very good. They... More

It's a pub. A cozy pub. 3 stars isn't a condemnation. I enjoyed it. But 5 stars would require WOW. No. It's a nice little pub and I've been to other nice little pubs with decent food and service. I'm not in this hood alot. Perhaps if I was, and went in a lot, I'd up the stars? One cannot... More

Out-of-town friends had eaten at 74th Street Ale House on a previous visit to Seattle and suggested we meet there for lunch on a weekday at 1:30pm. We were promptly served beverages and were about to order sandwiches when the server urged us to consider the "Blue Plate Special", a penne pasta dish with chicken and cilantro pesto. We all... A pal suggested this place for lunch and I was surprised by the high quality of menu items in this neighborhood bar. We both had the pulled pork sandwich special which was outstanding. Piled high, w/potato salad as an aside. Not cheap - $14 each - but worth returning for other selections. Un-pretentious. Locals hang-out from all indications.

We were going to the Christmas Play at the Taproot Theater and needed a place to eat. We had seen the 74th Street Ale House driving along Greenwood and decided to give it a try. We are glad that we did. The beer selection is good and the food was better than I had expected. The service was prompt, helpful... More

I wish more places would serve imperial pints! Delicious tap list, tomato chicken soup was fresh that morning and it just might be the best blackened salmon sandwich on the planet.

It was the first rainy day of the season after a long warm summer, so rare in the Seattle area, and we were welcomed by a friendly face that could easily have been my brother or my cousin! The Muligawny Soup was spicy and nourishing, Reubens fit perfectly with a crisp ale! We'll be back... Felt warm and cozy and... More
