The food and atmosphere was very good and very casual. It afforded great views of the ferry and shipping activity. The prices were a little steep, but that's because of the location.

Yes you usually have to wait to be seated but when you are the food is worth waiting for. Never tried Clam Chowder before, it was yummy. Surf and Turf was great with the Gorgonzolla. Sat on the deck and enjoyed the atmosphere.

For the last 25 years my husband & I have been coming to this Restuarant. It was where we had our first date. This time everything seemed to have changed. The view next sitting next to the ferry dock is cool, really nice deck seating and remodel is incredible. Very beautiful - but here is where it got different. Service... More

Waited for 15 minutes, most tables were empty. We got quick service at first. Cold water in their nice bottles tasted like bad tap water. Food was over priced. I ordered 3 piece Fish and chips, and I said instead of cole slaw I would like extra fries and the waiter said you will get plenty believe me and I... More

This place had a great view on the water! The salad with nectarines was fresh and had a great flavor. The salmon with huckleberry puree was delicious. The halibut was flaky and flavorful. The service was adequate.

Yum. Both the standard chowder and the full on seafood chowder were very good. Cioppino was worth the cash. Only caveat keeping of from 5 stars - needed sourdough bread to sop up the juicy goodness. Also no tipping establishment.

Really pretty restaurant inside. We sat by the water which was lovely. I am a huge fan of fish and chips, and theirs was barely mediocre. My hubby had the bacon wrapped halibut, which was most excellent. The clam chowder is awesome. Overpriced for what you got.

Greatly enjoyed the food, wine and service at Ivar's. Terrific location combined with great weather resulted a lovely lunch. It clearly is the restauarnt along the waterfront and the service is far superior. To our surprise the menu specifically stated that the prices included all service charges and taxes and the waitor reinforced this approach. It was not expensive and... More

Huge line-up and wait for a table 1½ hours, so we asked is we could sit in the bar area with kids and they said yes, then we realised we could just stay there and order FOOD, same menu so we did and it was happy hour. Food was average but the service was good but a fun place to... More

It was fun to dine here, but the food was not very good. I had their sampler of clam chowders thinking that was the thing to order at Acres of Clams. It was not a good choice. I didn't like any of the chowders and I usually like clam chowder. The others in our group we not impressed with their... More

Ivar's Original Acres of Clams has been a tradition since 1938. Seattle's most historic full service seafood restaurant is poised on Seattle's romantic colorful waterfront at Pier 54. This attractive yet informal restaurant has a wharf-like feel which showcases stellar waterfront views of Washington State ferries, Fire Station #3's waterside operations and Puget Sound. Our chefs create award-winning unique preparations to reflect the season's bounty, yet still showcase Ivar Haglund's world famous original recipes. You'll dine on wild Alaskan salmon, deep-water halibut, Alaskan King Crab, Dungeness Crab, jumbo prawns, manila clams, weathervane scallops just to name a few. Due to Ivar's longstanding relationships and purchasing power in the market, check the fresh market catches showcasing exclusive runs from the Northwest. As always, you can depend on our traditional seafood favorites featuring fresh steamed clams, fish 'n chips, Puget Sound clam chowder and much more. Ivar's Acres of Clams offers a variety of snack, dining and cocktail options for happy hour, lunch, dinner, banquets, groups and special events.
