Nice relaxing lunch after walking a lot in the public market in Seattle. We had Irish bangers and baked potatoes, chicken pastie, beef pastie and shepherds pie, all were very good. A little pricy for a family but ok for adults. Fun for our yearly visit to the Pacific Northwest.

After an exhausting tour of Pike Place Market, we climbed up the hill a tiny bit and found Kells. After being seated promptly, our order was taken, and our food arrived soon after. I had the corned beef pasty (PASS-tea not PAYS-tea) and clam chowder. A lady (I would guess she's the owner) came over to talk to us and... More

Always have good food here. My guests thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We had waited too long in a line outside another restaurant with no seat in sight. Walked into Kells and were immediately seated and served. Lovely atmosphere. The owner came and chatted with us :-)

After *attempting* to navigate the craziness of Pike Place Market, we wandered into Kells. Our waiter looked a little chagrined to have to deal with our group of 8 at first, but he ended up being really great (that might have been because a Christmas in July Santa pub crawl came through...we were the least irritating there, I guess, haha!).... Right below our B&B (Pensione Nichols) the area around Pike Place Market is very steep we found after exhausting walk through the market this lovely Pub. It is very deceiving when looking in from the outside as it appears small. Having gone inside you have left the good USA and find yourself in Ireland as this place is cavernous. The food... More

We found this place after looking for well over an hour for somewhere that our group of 6 wanted to go to. We went on a Saturday night and had been looking for a restaurant that appealed to everyone. We had 2 kids, so we needed something they would like and 2 other people who are somewhat picky. This place... More

Walking down Post Alley there are a couple of restaurants, one being Kells Irish Restaurant. Isn't it everybody missions to find the Irish Pub in every town you visit? It's mine. The food was very good. The soda bread was even better! Most soda bread I've tried is dried out or bland. The soda bread here was so soft and... More

We happened upon Kells while on the way to Pikes Market, hidden away on the alley. Having been to Ireland, the food was authentic and a great selection of Irish whiskey! Service was nice and we were able to chat with the wonderful owner who showed us around her place and explained that this was the first morgue in Seattle!!!... More

Service was okay but nothing special or memorable. Their own beer was decent. The location is at or near pikes market. The area had many people wandering about. This was located in an alley on the northwest end.

Description
Kells Irish Restaurant & Bar is one of Seattle's favorite hideaways. Situated in Post Alley above the historic Pike Place Market, Kells is a fine way to round up a day's sightseeing or browsing at the market. The pub is always alive with folks cooling off after a day's work. The restaurant will be sure to remind you of the Old Country with its warm, cozy atmosphere and traditional surroundings. There's also a patio outside that's a great place to feel the breeze from the Sound and the buzz of the marketplace. We also have a grand celebration every St. Patrick's Day. Kells proudly serves Seattle's largest Single Malt Scotch collection.
