My husband and I just enjoyed a great meal, with tremendous views of West Lake, at China Harbor Restaurant in Seattle. We loved the delicious seafood wonton soup in a large bowl, enough for two. The broth, which had a generous number of shrimp and scallops with freshly made pork wontons, was fresh, clear and not overly salty. Our two... More

I grew up in Boston and my family would often go out for Chinese food for a special occasion. China Harbor reminds me of those restaurants from the 1980's. American Chinese food has evolved quite a bit so the food at China Harbor suffers by comparison versus some other Chinese restaurants (especially in Seattle because there is a lot of... More

What is with the diamond-plate front steps? That seems like a safety hazard to me, they are surprisingly slick in the rain. Surprised health department allows that! If you live through the steps getting in and out, you will have wasted your money unless you like typical over-cooked, over-sauced, American Chinese food with bad meat. Some people do. I don't... I guess we really should have read the other reviews before trying this one out. But armed with a very generous Entertainment Coupon and having just moved to the neighborhood, we had high hopes. The restaurant has been here forever.... we took this as a good sign. Upon arrival, we noticed several large Asian families present. This has always (at... More

We had convention dinners at China Harbor held in Seattle, Washington early August 2015. The restaurant entrance and steps need a little upkeep. But once one steps up to the huge 2nd floor dining areas, there's a view to kill! Its a huge across the whole floor with glass doors and panels where the customers can glaze out at the... More

The general tso chicken was good, service was fast and friendly. Beautiful view of Lake Union, though it was after dark...Near Tom Hanks' houseboat. All in all, pretty good experience. I was fortunate to find a parking space nearby. The main dining room was almost empty ay 7 PM in a Sunday, not a good sign.

Some of my coworkers and I I ordered lunch as they are a close establishment to our office on Lake Union. Being Pescetarian, I ordered the Kung Pau shrimp and low and behold, they were full of shrimp poop. I called the manager to kindly complain, and she told me " This is the way we order them, this is... More

I approached dinner with optimism despite the negative criticism I have read about China Harbor. My optimism quickly started to slip, as I walked towards the outdated 1960's lit up red entrance, which resembled an old speakeasy. I then found myself standing in a room of tacky décor with a fantastic view of the water. I was greeted with a... More

The food was yummy. Reasonably priced. Parking is free after 4pm weekdays. The drinks were strong although they did not know what a Whisky sour was.... The decor was a mix of some really nice historical pieces to some modern pieces... the fixtures were nice and added to the atmosphere, but the building itself could use some help soon. The... More

I ordered a vegetable soup only to find out that it was made on chicken broth. After I mentioned it to our server, he tried to convince me that I was "probably" mistaken. After saying that I could feel chicken taste in it, he went to check with the cook and indeed my vegetable soup was made with chicken broth...I... More
