The setting is beautiful, the dining room elegant, and the service spot on. However, at about 50 an entree, the seafood is unremarkable, and in one case, about half of the salmon was raw. But even if it had been cooked properly (which is opaque...and barely flaked) there was nothing special about the dish. Which consisted of a piece of partially raw salmon and some brocolini. Hint - if you have a piece of salmon or halibut fillet that is quite thick in the center, 5% brine it for an hour or so, cook slowly in a low oven with butter or use a sous vide machine, then fire the outside with a blow torch. Goes well with Joel Robuchon mashed potatoes and some fresh made basil oil. The crab cakes seemed to be blue crab, not dungeness, but was so much filler couldn't quite tell. The halibut entree was cooked more or less properly but the dish was otherwise not memorable. Having spent a decade working offshore in the Alaskan seafood industry, I like to think I know my way around a plate of fish or crab. I also know Rays has been there forever and locally it's a tad heretical to speak ill of it. But the main restaurant food is disappointing. Suggest sticking to the bar and cafe upstairs - it's cheaper, has the same views, and much better execution of a different menu.More

We had dinner at Ray’s twice on recent visit. Best halibut and crab cakes ever. Need reservations, but if you can’t get ask for seating upstairs or at the bar. Great location and fantastic food.

You cannot beat the view. It is beautiful! The food is great, with a relatively reasonable price. Consider it in a great location in Seattle. Service people are very tentative, helpful, and with good activities such as put up shades. Overall it is a good...place for lunch or dinner. Suggest making a reservation even for lunch.More

Several of my my business associates and I went to Rays a few nights ago. I have eaten there several times over the last 25 years and it never disappoints. Started with oysters for the table and all of our diners enjoyed the king salmon...immensely. You hardly need to look at the menu with that local choice. Staff was spot on and we enjoyed several bottles of a great WA Cabernet.More

Still one of my all-time favorite places in Seattle. My sister took me here after we had toured the Chittenden Locks and it was warm & friendly and just excellent. Staff are great, food just wonderful, view adds to the dining experience. Highly recommend.

Saturday evening dinner was a triple win: great food, great service, great view. Our servers were attentive but not hovering, anticipating our next need many times. Not only was the food tasty, it was beautiful. And, our far corner seating gave us great views of...the mountains, islands, ships and kayakers.More

Very busy but wait was worth it. Enjoyed the clam chowder and we had three different salads, all of which were well presented and too large to finish. Wonderful view of the harbor. We will return.

Delicious food, no complaints. The fish was fresh and well prepared, the other meats were also delicious. We were impressed by the beautiful view and vibe of the restaurant, it felt like a hidden gem. We were also excited to see that some of the...kids meals came with delicious broccolini. The wait staff was nice and the service was decent. Overall good experience!More

Excellent in every way. Our waiter went out of his way to ensure we had a great time. I believe his name was Michael. We would definitely go back

Five of us enjoyed a nice dinner overlooking the water. Hamburgers, fish and chips, chowder, poke and scallops were all good. Fried calamari appetizer was good, too. Service was outstanding.

It's not really that type of restaurant. Diners here expect a peaceful romantic atmosphere plus a lovely view, particularly at this price point. Families could possibly be seated in a secluded noisy kid friendly area.
