The atmosphere is from a bygone era with low lighting, soft piano music and professional waiters. Steaks are the menu staple here and although among the priciest we've encountered are not the tastiest! The rub used before grilling is too high in salt content and baked potatoes prepared table side were pedestrian at best. The wedge salads were excellent as... More

Recently I participated in a live streamed presentation in one of their private backrooms at Seattle's El Gaucho. Listen, the food was great. Filet medallions with a black truffle sauce, asparagus and mashed potatoes all cooked to perfection. My beef isn't with my beef. This particular room at El Gaucho was poorly suited to host a live multi media event,... More

Went here for dinner with my then significant other for our anniversary. I ordered a cocktail and steak (which does not come with any sides, that must be ordered separately) for dinner. The steak was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. After, we shared a bottle of wine with a cheese/nut/fruit platter. Then we decided to indulge further with dessert which... More

We came here for dinner as a family. Service was excellent and the steak was good....had better but this is a good steak. I ordered Caesar salad but with mix green instead of Roman and it was excellent, the waiter prepares it right in the front of you and you can control the ingredients and the amount of dressing, It... So you will not find better service anywhere in the city. That's just a fact. From GM to bus boy, everyone is super attentive. Could not ask for more from that standpoint. If, however, you are looking for a great steak? You're not going to get it here. Decent? Sure. Worth the price? Not even. Don't get me wrong, the... More

If you love salt--El Gaucho. Have plenty of water on hand. You will need it. Steak and salt sandwich in the bar for happy hour--equal parts steak and salt. This was my only visit, so I do not know if this was typical. I do not say first visit on purpose.

Everything was excellent here - was a fabulous place for a date! If you are looking for the elegance of yesteryear without any of the dust needing to be blown off this is your place!

El Gaucho provides a real, old-fashioned, high-end steak house experience in a lovely location in Lower Queen Anne. Valet parking, tuxedoed staff, enormous portions, table-side preparation all whisk the diner back to the gracious dining of an earlier era. No "latest craze" food or cocktails here, just traditional American favorites prepared with care and elan. As with other restaurants of... More

A favourite pre-cinema happy hour. No surprises, just well prepared drinks and nibbles in a sociable atmosphere without blaring music.

Yes, this is the restaurant to take your loved one. Good decoration, excellent staff, delicious meat and live music (piano). The menu, the cheapest meat is 37$. So be prepared to see dollars getting out of your wallet. The menus come without any sides. These need to be paid extra. I have been in Brazil and Argentina, and you cannot... More
