We knew going in that this was going to be an expensive dinner, and it was, But the experience here was well worth it. You walk in and it has low lighting and the smell of steak tickles your nose. They have great wait staff that makes sure you want for nothing. Not just one person but many. We ordered... More

This is true. My steak that cost $50+ was served exactly as shown below. Can the owner not spare 50 cents to throw a parsley leaf, 4 slices of carrot or a half cup of spinach? I've never in any restaurant even a diner been served such a plate. I'm a Seattle local; this must be a massive tourist trap.... More

Now I know that other steak restaurants in Seattle might not agree with me, but that's ok, this is just my own opinion. What I like about El Gaucho is the old world charm it has when you walk in. I love the dark setting, and the ambiance, and the vintage charm it has, most of the staff wearing tuxedo... More

Wow so disappointed, been waiting to eat here for years. Everyone talks about how great the steaks are, not impressed. I had the bone in rib eye or there version of it. Tough and just not that great. I personally have eaten great steaks all across american and this was not one of the spots. Way overrated

We had never eaten at El Gaucho before so we thought we'd give it a try this past Saturday evening. The prices were expensive but we were not disappointed. The Chateaubriand was amazing! Best steak we've ever eaten and the sides were excellent too. We left with enough food for a second meal. The service was also excellent. This is... More

El Gaucho is literally our happy place. My husband and I walk in and know we are immediately in for a great night. the service is always great, the live piano is awesome. The food is great, the El Gaucho (w/béarnaise, asparagus, and lobster) is best steak in Seattle. The Wedge Salad and loaded baked potato are great. And Banana's... More

Really nice restaurant with a beautiful ambiente and live music. We had a truffle soup which was excellent. Then we tried the escargots; they were terrific. As a main dish we selected salmon which was really amazing. The place is really great if you are willing to spend a little more than usually.

We ate dinner at El Gaucho a few nights ago having never eaten there before, despite being long-time Seattle residents whom eat out all the time! The exterior building does have a very low-key feel, but I think that heightens the contrast once you enter the restaurant. It feels as though you are slipping back in time to a very... More

The Inn at El Gaucho surpassed our expectations, largely due to the amazing service. While not much to look at from the outside (my girlfriend was hesitant when we first drove past), the lobby and rooms are very cool and stylish, in a sort of 50's vintage hard-boiled decor. Our room had a fantastic bed and very cool leather furniture,... More

What fun to run across an old fashioned steak house! The steaks were delicious - but excessively priced. The building was tired and the service was poor. But, the steaks were delicious.
