Excellent

Great, fresh and local help in funding students in the sixteen week culinary program. What better way to indulge and give back at the same time.

Nice menu with a lot of healthy choices. I had the Rosemary Turkey on rye. It was excellent, as were their beer battered fries. Two others with me had The Farestart Beef Burger and said it was the best restaurant burger they have had. I would highly recommend it on the food and the awesome service alone, but they take... Been here a few times, and it is a 'feel good' place where the food and the reason for its existence strikes a great balance.

FareStart serves dinner on Thursday nights, but they are also open for lunch on weekdays. We ordered from the menu which was varied and creative. I am a big fan of roasted beet salad, and I have to say the one at FareStart is probably the best I've ever eaten. The restaurant is part of an intense 16 week training... More

Was celebrating my 60th birthday and my daughter found this gem. Thursday evenings the guest chefs prepare a prix fix menu with 3 courses, appetizer, main and dessert for $29. The gazpacho super was bowl licking delicious. The steak main course had a beautiful presentation and the ice cream float dessert was fun. The service is from the corporate community... More

I came here on a Thursday night which is when they have featured chefs. We had a great meal from beginning to end. The first course was a great duck pâté, main course was a super flaky fish with mushrooms and dessert was a small bit of ice cream, strawberries and this amazing green herby-sauce - basil perhaps? Either way,... More

The business model here is about giving disadvantaged individuals a "second chance" to have an awesome career, which I really respect. Their signature soup is a tomato basil, but their soup of the day was bacon cream soup. If you like bacon, this is the soup for you. If you don't like bacon....I'd opt for something else because every spoonful... More

Two problems make this rating a 2.5: The food is good, the concept is great, the atmosphere is fine but you need more than an hour for lunch (we arrived at 12:15 and our food did not arrive until 1:10. We didn't get to finish our meal before we had to head back to work at 1:20). The other problem... More

I was in Seattle for business and looking to try something a little different for dinner. Browsing TripAdvisor, I read about FareStart, visited their website and became intrigued by their mission to empower disadvantaged people by teaching them skills to work in the restaurant industry. I immediately made a reservation for guest chef night - a very special evening when... More

Wonderful food. I actually appreciated not having to decide on what I wanted to eat ( fixed menu). Tenderloin AND black cod and perfectly cooked. Good wine pairing at a great price and for a great concept helping others develop independence and a career. Equal to restaurants costing 3-4 times as much. No complaints. An absolute pleasure.
