My husband and I are from Seattle However we hit Pike Place Market for the fresh produce. Tell the vendors your from Seattle with ID and you get a discount! We stopped in to have lunch at the "famous " Athenian restaurant. You may have recognized it in Sleepless in Seattle staring Tom Hanks! It can be extremely busy, the... More

Think your local, very average diner in a great touristy location. Seafood heavy menu as you would expect.

I loved have the Alaskan crab leg. It is so big that it was too much for two people. Greta food, great staff, great view!

Wait time wasn't that bad when we came in. Overpriced food but it was good though. Clam chowder is exceptional. Staff are very friendly. Must check out when in Seattle.

In the public market area there area there are much better places to eat. The food is mundane at best, kind of prices and the setting (other than the view) is average. Service was okay

We had lunch here recently to experience an iconic and historic restaurant in the Pike Market scene and were not dissappointed. Despite the crowds, the manager looked after us and ensured we were seated in a reasonable time frame and from there our service continued to be of a great standard. The clam chowder was exceptional and the setting was... More

My daughter and I arrived in Seattle that afternoon and stumbled upon Athenian. My daughter picked the place... and it seemed pretty busy. After a brief (less than 2 min) wait, we decided to sit at the restaurant bar top. Ryan took care of us... and our service was wonderful! The food was yummy and if we lived in Seattle,... More

As you can tell, we have eaten here many times and will continue too. The food is good value and the servers are always funky and friendly. Consistency is what makes the Athenian so good, consistently good. Pike Place Market, breakfast and buying seafood to take home after a visit in Seattle is always special. Leave lots of time to... I hope the owners don't ever change the decor. Love the tiles (even though some are missing, and ought to be replaced), love the wooden booths. It looks as though the decor hasn't changed for decades and that brings authentic charm. Almost every table has a water view- which is a great thing in general, but a bit challenging as... More

This is a small Greek-themed restaurant located in Pike Place Market. It faces the water, and is two stories. If you can, score a table by the windows upstairs. The menu is an unusual combination of standard breakfast fare, generic seafood items, and Greek dishes. There is also a full bar. The sriacha Bloody Mary was very tasty, and the... More
