Alert! - The directions to get to the restaurant were wrong. Nobody answered the phone to help us find the place. The cooking class was held in a dimlit back room and the cooking equipment didn't work to keep things cooking so the food got cold. There wasn't enough food for the 12 of us that attend so the 5... 6 top dinner, we got served 1 piece of salami each, 2 mozzarella balls feeds 4, 1 salad feeds maybe 1-2 people, a sausage and chicken plate for 2 not 6, they charged us $270.00 for 4 people and 2 of the table had a groupon for a $104.00 dollar meal that they paid $58.00 for prior that night, they... As we were walking into the restaurant, I passed a gentlemen walking out. I could hear him mumbling "I love Italians, but I don't think I'd ever eat here." Not the best intro for a first time visitor. Boy, did he miss out! This is not your typical dining experience. It's family style. There's no menu. The waiter asked us... More

We had eaten at Al Boccalino many years ago and loved the food. This time we returned with an Italian food tour group hosted by the owners of Al Boccalino and still enjoyed the food but the restaurant has seen better days and could use a little sprucing up. The owners were interesting and they do offer cooking classes, which... More

This restaurant is home to beautifully and deliciously made meals, fantastic service, a wonderful ambiance and so much more. They do a great Italian Table meal, where you give them the guidelines and the budget, and they crate a full meal for your table. They have a wine club for imported Italian wines and cooking classes, as well.

Cooking Class was fun, the instructor focused on teaching basic skills, with a simple way to use whatever you have in your pantry without breaking the budget. My only low point is that the room was too cold for me....

We did a prixe fixe menu but for our group of 15 and were charged $25.00. We were served salad (chilled well and tasty), fettucine alfredo (no meat) and a penne pasta with meat sauce (average taste) family style. Dessert included were two small cream puffs per person. Staff was friendly and I appreciated them taking our reservation for our... More

Located next to the Best Western Plus along lower Yesler Way, this family-owned/operated Italian restaurant is best avoided! Catering to tourists wandering through the slum area of Seattle, the 'boys' serve you what they want - regardless of what you order; mix and match dishes and drinks pretty much as they please and then over charge for their mediocre fare.... I've eaten in this restaurant a number of times and never reviewed it. The food has always been very good but I have to say it has the best tiramisu I have ever had. I travel to Italy a fair bit and have never had tiramisu as good as Al Boccalino's. On one of my trips into Al Boccalino's I... More

Class was over crowded. 13 students instead of the 10 maximum as advertised. Luigi did not teach class. Big kicker came when we got our bill at end of class for $73 on top of the cost of the Groupon. $40'was for a carafe of mediocre wine, $11 for sales tax charged for the Groupon and $22 was a service...
