My wife and I ordered three dishes for dinner, since leftovers are a good thing, and enjoyed each. The cod dish, in a spicy lentil breading, was outstanding. Lamb tandoori curry and the eggplant tandoori were very good. We ordered three chutneys, tamarind, mint and a mango pickle that was quite spicy, and also got their raita. All tasty.

Ordered take-out dinner - ok food - the tandoori rooti (bread) was not fully baked; prices double whats posted on the site menu - apparently what's posted is for lunch; but pricey for the quality & quantity!

We visited Shalimar restaurant on Monday,26 September. The restaurant offers Pakistani cuisine and we have been wanting to try it since long. The ambience of restaurant is good, beyond doubt. The staff was very courteous. We ordered a chai,a plate of choke bhature, garlic naan and a Kashmiri Paneer. Tea was average,Kashmiri Paneer curry is probably the worst Indian/Pakistani form of curry I had... More

Hello Chetna, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. May be our staff did not explain our dishes on the menu, some are authentic Pakistani / Indian and some are mild, more for western palate. Please visit the restaurant again I'll personally take you through the menu and find your aquired taste. My suggestion next time; please send the food... More

Summary: This place in the University Village neighborhood is a great place to get a good Indian meal. The food is quite tasty, the service is very good and the atmosphere is nicely done. The prices are not bad making this place a good value. Details: I was staying in the Hotel Deca, which is about a quarter of a... More

I was visiting family in the Seattle area and staying by the University District. I am found of Indian food and Shalimar was simply great. My wife and I had a wonderful dinner. The food is not only terrific but very authentic too. The setting is also romantic and comfortable. I would absolutely go back!

This restaurant offers Indian and Pakistan style foods. The portions are generous and the food is spicy. The Naan bread is exquisite. The prices range from $12 to $20 per entrée. If you go with a group, get various items and try each other's.

The decor was awesome! Service was the best I've had at a Pakistani restaurant! Samosas were good and then came the Chicken tikka. It was just not good. I packed it up and gave it to homeless people, thinking they don't care it's not spicy or flavorful. I'm sure they do.. but, I didn't want to waste it. I just... More

I like Indian food. I asked for hot and it was "American hot" (which I think is medium-hot). Service was pleasant and fast. Chicken was good but a bit too much dark meat - would have been 5/5 with all white. Cannot fault the flavour, the rice or the naan. Come hungry or take the rest home!

A really good place for indian food. The portions are big (maybe too big). Very tasty and the naan were also perfect. As I understood the places is a family restaurant, service was ok but who cares when the food is excellent? I had the lamb Karahi which is one of my favorite curries and I wasn't disappointed.

Nice clean place, many food choices. The naan was excellent, the goat kadahi and bhindi Lahori were very good, but chicken makhani was lackluster. The ready made tea was not very desirable. The prices are very seattle. Should have tried their grill perhaps. The service was impersonal. Not impressed. Not likely to visit again.
