This is an Oyster bar. Not too many other choices there. I believe who is coming there is aware. So indeed various type of Oysters, all were very good. Nice atmosphere. Good service. The place is small and the sitting is tight, and you cant book in advance. We came after reading so many good things about this place and... More

I live in the area and every time I have a visitor from out of state, I try to bring them here. The atmosphere and ambience, the friendly (though sometime harried) wait staff (due to how busy it is), and the delicious food always wow my friends. Somehow, the oysters just seem colder and fresher here than anywhere else! Everything... More

This is a place I have visited several times in the past when living in Seattle. I came back on a business trip and decided to try it out again, as I had very fond memories of the place. I went in to have quick dinner on my own at the bar. Here is what I ordered including comments on... More

Loved the Walrus and Carpenter. We visited on Saturday March 4th and arrived 30 minutes before it opened. We were surprised to see the large line already! We managed to get in on the first seating and sat at a table adjacent the back wall and looking out on the tiny restaurant. We ordered bubbles and 2 dozen oysters to... More

I came with friends, and we were seated quickly. The seating options were limited, though, and I noticed quite a few parties waiting after we were seated so you might want to try an off-time if you want to avoid that. The inside is decorated so nicely, and gives it a really warm and upscale ambiance at the same time.... More

I came here on the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed! The place was full, but we were able to get a table for 2 in under 10 minutes. Its a small place, with a nice long bar and a cozy atmosphere. We started with an assortment of oysters - AMAZING! We then shared the steak tartare and... More

This place is fantastic. We got there at 6.30 and sat at the bar. Looked after straight away, the bar tender is brilliant. Helpful and friendly. The food is gorgeous. I wanted to try everything on the menu. The place is small but full of energy. Could have sat there all night. If it wasn't our last night last night... More

Hubby and I chose this resturant because they had trout on the menu. Was the 1st recommended resturant for seattle resturants with great trout. We were seated right away. Given a menu that didn't compare to the menu on their website. When we asked about it the waitress said they hadn't had trout for over a year. She also said... More

Went to Walrus and Carpenter for dinner while in town. Just north of downtown Seattle in Ballard. I agree this is a smaller restaurant, but definitely worth a wait, if there is a line. I tried all of the oysters on the menu. They also had great bread and cheese. The staff was helpful. I would definitely recommend coming here... More

We had heard so much about this restaurant and knew that the wait to get in will be long. We managed to get there right before 4 pm when they opened and encountered a short line. We sat at the bar so that we can see how they prepare the oysters. We had their fried brussels sprout salad, foie gras,... More
