We had to make an unexpected stressful one day trip to Seattle. We were staying at the airport and didn't want to fight traffic downtown. We stumbled upon a great review and were not disappointed. Service was lovely and low key. I LOVED the white sangria. Everything we ordered were standouts, but especially gazpacho with heirloom tomatoes and geoduck and... More

Saturday late afternoon celebration event was topped with delicious food, wonderful service, and a laid back and relaxing atmosphere. We ordered 6 different dishes, from roasted cauliflower (extraordinary) to NY strip steak (melt in your mouth good). We order all at once, and the chef decided the order of arrival, so each dish could be savor end family-style and on... More

I live in the West Seattle neighborhood where Blackboard Bistro is located; It's an easy walk for me to get there. I am drawn to Blackboard's intimacy without being necessarily "romantic." The level of service is professional without being stuffy. The menu is always fresh, with creative combinations that collectively bring back the olfactory experience of DINING. The chef is... More

I've been here twice, but need to go more often. First time was about three years ago and have been wanting to return ever since. Finally got a chance to this past Saturday with my family to celebrate some birthdays. It was as good as I remembered. I'd go back for just the bread and brown butter that served with... More

Came for Mother's Day Dinner. Was in a larger group so ate family style. Every plate brought out was great. The roasted cauliflower is a must. Every thing tasted good with great presentation. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The Blackboard Bistro was a very pleasant surprise as we begin our exploration of places to dine in our new West Seattle neighborhood. From the outside, The Blackboard looks cozy and enticing, but we were not expecting the lessons they were preparing for us inside. We started our evening with cocktails to warm us up after the 3/4 mile walk... More

We found Blackboard Bistro by "accident". We wanted to try someplace different from downtown Seattle. What an amazing find. The meal started with bread and a brown butter and pumpkins seed spread that was very good. We ended up ordering two vegetarian options. Brussel sprouts with pecorino and pickled walnuts. I had no idea you could pickle walnuts or that... More

Small restaurant in a nondescript location being overrun by 6 story condos, easily missed. One of the best restaurants I've been to all over the world. Fresh ingredients, great preparation, innovative service, intimate relationship with the chef. Is in the Top 3 of good restaurants in WS you must try.

Very good and very creative would be how I'd describe this neighborhood beauty. The owner chef turns out some high quality tasty food. You. Service was a notch less than you'd expect, but the food made up for it.

Wow!!! Who would have though West Seattle could produce such a fantastic place!!! While I might down grade the. wine list. The food was unbelievable and the idea of ordering shared food with it all being served at time perfect timing, makes Blackboard a wonderful place to meet good friends and enjoy a fine evening of fine food and friends!!
