We really wanted to love Gaudi. It's a very quaint restaurant near where I grew up at the top of a hill near the UW...a charming little spot. Sadly, the paella was overpriced and quite mushy. If you are a paella aficionado, you know to look for the socarrat - sadly non-existent on our dish. There was also very little... More

We enjoyed a wine tasting dinner at Gaudi last week with four other guests. We were seated at a large table in the back dining room next to a table with seven wines--one cava, five whites and one red. Jo, the co-owner, served us and suggested tapas and paellas to go with the wines. The wine purveyor explained each wine... More

Unbelievably, we had the entire restaurant to ourselves, which was quite nice. It is a husband and wife team that runs it and he is from the Barcelona area and cooks authentic Catalan food. She was quite informative and suggested items we might order. The cuisine is extremely simple. Nothing fancy here. Good ingredients.

Four of us visited and were favorably impressed by the warm welcome and wonderful food. From tapas to entree to wine to brandy, all was set out with panache and tasted so very good. The owner and server Jo was thoughtful about sound level, turning down the music for us. We intend to revisit.

Four of us went to Gaudi looking for a quiet atmosphere, and we got very personalized attention and advice on the menu. Mostly tapas, but a good vegetarian paella as well. The house-made sausages were to die for!

Having just gotten back from a trip to Spain and Portugal we were looking to find some of the foods we loved. Gaudi didn't disappoint in most cases. The Gazpacho, ham tapas, and homemade bread with olive oil were delicious. The service was attentiveand ambience great. We'll be back.

We happened into Gaudi by chance. A very cute little place and our server -- who may have been the owner or a chef or ...? -- was very pleasant and helpful. We ordered a large assortment of tapas. Some were great, some merely pleasant, but it was a fun way to have a meal.

New management? Out of cash? Depressed chef giving up on his dreams? Not sure what happened but our experience was 4 stars short of what others have experienced in the past. Olives, anchovies, bread, and sangria were subpar. Service was a waiter short of adequate. Ambiance was great, but suspiciously empty on a Saturday night. What happened to this place?

The seafood paella was marvellous, with a perfect sangria. It's a great night out, in a lovely spot.

Authentic Spanish Mediterranean food is so hard to find in Seattle but Gaudi is the place to find it. Delicious paellas, chistorra con salsa de manzana (house made sausage), and various flan desserts are offered along with many different tapas. Jo and Juan are very welcoming and have decorated their restaurant with many items from Spain. Definitely worth a visit!
