I write today not about the food, but the service. I ordered online through their website and they had no idea who I was or what I ordered. After repeating to two (2) different people my order and having the second person insist that the...order she had in front of me was mine, I walked home and found out that they had given me the wrong side. I tried calling the first number on their menu. The number is outdated and disconnected. The second one was busy, and having heard the phone ringing inside the first time, it appears this business does not have the capability to receive multiple calls. After walking back again to the restaurant I had to go through the same exact process and tell the same exact people not five minutes later what I ordered and all they had to offer were feeble attempts at coaxing the wrong food item out of my hand, rushing away into the back for a short period of time, and coming back with what I ordered without any compensation or concern. Do they re-serve the food I had in my home or do they just not care enough to let me have it as a token of sincerity? Either way, there's much more in the way of Chinese cuisine in the greater Seattle area, and that is why I won't be returning to China First.More

So, I was hungry, and needed a quick dinner delivered. GrubHub said they could have this quick. And quick it was. Shrimp dumplings = good, wonton soup = good, kung pao combo = fair....

The sign of the shop is not "china first", but "中国第一川菜館". The lunch is $7.99, so we should not hope much. Average food and average service. As I paid $10 for the lunch, they returned no change. You had better pay exactly as possible.

The restaurant has amazing and elegant dark furniture and remarkable and unique decorations all over the walls, great seats and upscale looking place, however, the beauty of the place is tempered by the less than average customer service. My food was placed on the table...without a word from the waiter, shocking. I will not be returning to this place.More

We stopped here before a football game for lunch. There were 2 tables with no hostess or wait staff in sight. Apparently one person is working the dining room. She seated us after waiting for awhile. We ordered two combination lunches: Fried prawns (3) in...very thick batter, with stir fry bay shrimp lo-mein (surprisingly delicious), and a spring roll. Beef with broccoli (very good), chicken fried rice (average), and a spring roll. Both came with egg flower drop soup that is over starched and thick without much flavor. The spring roll is just cabbage and a few shredded carrots. No taste and gave up after half. The waitress brought us tea, which we didn't drink. Had to ask for ice water. She took our order, brought our food one combination at a time, and brought our check/bill. Never checked back. She was very busy talking to the prep staff, dishing details out about her husband and gossip. Obviously she didn't take her job too seriously. Our bill came to be $27, with taxes and tipping. Probably won't return unless every single restaurant is closed on the Ave.More

I took my mom and my sister's family here for dinner as everyone was used to Chinese food. It was a choice of convenience as we were in the area, but the place exceeded our expectations. My brother commented on how authentic the cooking was,...and my mom approved too. I would visit again next time that I am close by.More

It's never a good sign to walk into a Chinese restaurant in a busy university district at lunchtime and find the place empty while neighboring businesses are bustling. My dining companion and I sought out China First based on information from the Yellow Pages stating...one could order salt-free sauces. This was appealing due to some dietary restrictions at the moment. The waitress looked at my companion as if she were from another planet, and the best the restaurant could offer was a heap of steamed vegetables, no sauce. I ordered one of the two set lunches, which included two heavily battered fried shrimp, a heavily battered chicken-thing with bright yellow goo ladled over it, a fried egg roll, and two thin slices of "BBQ pork" atop a small mound of fried rice. It was marginal by any stretch of the imagination. Total lunch bill for two was $13.20. Cheap, bad food. Nuff said.More
