We had lunch in Olivia's because it had been recommended by someone we'd met on our tour. Unfortunately, we had a less than acceptable experience in this restaurant, and I could not recommend it based on our experience. We went in when the restaurant was about half-filled, so we did not have to wait for a table. But we did... More

Olivia's provides a small but interesting menu - seafood, fish and caribou - and an inviting ambiance. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. The salmon pastry was supposedly stuffed with cream cheese. The filling tasted more like Cheese Whiz and overwhelmed any bits of salmon that might have made it into the meal. It was accompanied by... Was very impressed by the little place, its set back a bit so you may not see it to go in. I ordered the bean chilli which was good, and my dining mates enjoyed the fish and chips. The meal was really cheap but our bill was pushed up by an unexpectedly expensive bottle of wine. There was only one... More

Very engaging host and good food. My niece is vegan and she really enjoyed her meal too - the veg chilli without the cheese. We also had the fish and chips and salmon. Good wine selection and throughly enjoyable meal.

We ordered a half - plate of nachos and a chicken pot pie for dinner. Both came out hot and tasty. The half-plate size was huge. The pot pie would have been better with more than one small puff-pastry or a crust.

We sat down and another patron that just finished was berating the server and the cook for their food being awful. We wondered if we should go. We have it a chance. The place was nearly empty and the server/bar tender was inattentive. We could see they had put our food out but the server didn't notice for some time.... More

We enjoyed our lunch. The Alaska King Crab legs were delicious. Also, it gave us a sense that we were really in Alaska. The restaurant was nicely decorated and captured more a sense of refined Alaska rather than rough and tumble gold mining Alaska. Our meal was enjoyed in a more quiet atmosphere that allowed our conversations to be easily... More

Skagway is indeed a tourist town, but Olivia's Restaurant showcases local food in a very comfortable and unique setting. We enjoyed a wonderful chowder, salmon and halibut puff pastries and some great wine. The Irish owner is a great entrepreneur, and highly charismatic. Do have a yarn as it is worth the visit

We want thought we had found a lovely little Bistro with good food . Sadly discovered not after being seated and waiting nearly 45 minutes to be served . We both ordered the Chicken Pot thinking it would be served with fresh veg and a nice pastry top. Our coffee arrived - then we were ignored for 30 minutes .... More
