I have been to Jim Pa's a few time. Although the wait can be long, the food is WONDERFUL! There are loads of flavor, and it is hot and fresh! Today for the first time I had some fried chicken wings. I hate wings, but...they came with the meal. These were the MEATEST wings I have ever seen! The flavor was spot on, the wing meat was juicy! When has anyone ever had a wing that was juicy! They are usually more like chicken jerky than meaty! I wish I took a photo to post before I ate the wings!! I was very happy with my meal and service from a very friendly staff who all wore masks and socially distanced! VERY SAFE COVID PROTOCAL!More

2nd visit was a complete fail. Ordered take out. Coleslaw was very dry and tasteless. Green beans came straight from the can. Not seasoned and certainly not slow cooked. Shrimp was rubbery and flavorless. Hush puppies were dense and had no flavor. Seemed really old....Twice fried perhaps. The tarter sauce was the star of our whole order. I’m so disappointed. Thought I found my local catfish hub. My first experience was good and brought me back for a second visit.More

Wait us well over an hour and they do not observe social distancing. Customers standing next to each other inside! After an 1 hour+ wait, food was greasy with little flavor. A definite miss!

Our First JimPa's Dinning Experience will be our last. It took over an hour & 15 to be served 2 simple meals in an icy cold seating area. Waitress was doing her best, on 3 attempts to find our meals. our meals were "Mega Greasy"....The Fries were served under cooked, Wife asked for a Chicken Breast on her order... she was served a small thigh. The posted hours were until 10PM on Sat Night. They abruptly shut down the kitchen @ 8pm. Customers behind us who had paid for their meals, were left with no food served. A number of customers were turned away due to early closure. Save yourself the frustration, Find another Kennesaw location to dine out. These folks will be out of Business soon, if they do not get their collective acts together.More

So I have passed their catering business for several years and never went in just due to the unusual hours. They have recently open a restaurant so I decided to give it a try. I will say I had their shrimp and not the catfish...but I would assume the breading to be the same. The restaurant itself was very nice and clean. Staff very friendly and attentive. They have a sign that clearly states service will take up to 25 minutes. No problem with that, good food takes a while to prepare. *They even brought me free hush puppies while I waited. My food arrive around 10 minutes. Portions were huge and the shrimp massive. That's where the good ended. All I tasted was salt. Breading of the shrimp was lacking any kind of spice but salt. Its a shame because I really wanted to like it but even now as I write this I taste the salt. Would I try it again. Sure, just to try the catfish. Maybe today someone just had a heavy hand on the salt.More

Hello! Thanks for your review. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the shrimp. We do put a seasoning on our shrimp but it's not very salty tasting. You might just be more sensitive to it or maybe they were accidentally sprinkled with salt instead of the...More

My wife and I had a late lunch today at Jimpa’s. We were looking forward to eating there based on the reviews. First, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant was decorated very nicely. I ordered the three piece catfish filet meal and my...wife ordered the catfish and chicken combo. The hush puppies that was served was excellent, but the catfish was disappointing, the breading was tough and needed to use my knife to cut it. I am sure this effected the taste as well, just wasn’t good. Lastly at these prices we expected better. Hopefully this was just a hiccup, this location has only been open a short time. We may give it another try in the future.More

I called ahead and picked my order up and I loved it! My family and I get the catfish, white beans, steak fries, and hushpuppies. I love this place, I’ve eaten here before, and I’m always treated good. Also when I went in, the place...was spotless. If you like southern fried catfish, this is the place!More

We’ve decided to give this restaurant some time to get settled in a bit more before we return. We loved the food at the old location and have been anxiously awaiting their opening the new store. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with the food at...the new location. The slaw and hush puppies are very different from what they served at the old location. The slaw was watery and chopped super fine, not much mayo or seasoning. The hushpuppies were sweet and they tasted like they were made from pancake batter. Also, grease had soaked deep into the hushpuppies, as if they’d been dropped into grease that was not quite hot enough. The whole catfish were greasy and one side of the fish seemed to have been sitting in grease for awhile. Onion rings were greasy and tasted like they had been cooked awhile. Overall, this is such a drastic change in food quality and flavors that we were seriously disappointed. We will try again at a later date and, hopefully, find that they’re using their original recipes and serving freshly cooked, good tasting, well prepared food like they did before. We really want this restaurant to succeed. We frequently visited at their previous location and hate the thought of losing the best place anywhere around for a good catfish dinner.More

This is a new location for this restaurant and our first and last visit. The fish was very good. They don’t offer a one piece meal which I found unusual not everyone wants two large pieces. Absolutely nothing special about the “out of can “green...beans, no additional seasoning or the frozen steak fries. But what I really didn’t like was that they charge.$2.49 for water! This was not bottled just out of the tap. When I questioned this I was told when they key water into the register it automatically charges. No offer to refund. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants and this is a first and last time I’ve ever been charged for water. Bad policy!!More
