When will burger joints stop making burgers that are too tall for a shark to get in its mouth? It's not pleasant when you end up wearing part of your sandwich due to the bun being too small for the fillings. Seating inside and out.

Stopped here for a quick bite at lunch. We shared the fish tacos (fresh tuna, medium doneness) and coleslaw with pineapple. Tacos and sauce were a great combination with the sweet and crunchy coleslaw. Sharing the two tacos in the order was a perfect amount...for us. Friendly polite service. We sat outside in the courtyard and enjoyed a glimpse of ocean blue. Would return to try other menu items.More
This was the best fish tacos I’ve had. And honestly, probably the best meal I’ve had in Hawaii. I count on going here again ASAP.
Found this place while walking around and it was amazing. The customer service, the food, everything was amazing
Just off the beaten path this is a hidden gem that offers a great value and wonderful food. I really enjoyed the applewood smoked bacon cheeseburger and my wife had the fish tacos. I highly recommend given this place a chance — I doubt anyone...would regret this choiceMore
Stopped here based off reviews. Island Ono Loa Grill is a small restaurant in a shopping center on Ali’i Drive. This is a tourist area of Kona. The Hamburger and fries were good. Fries were hand cut, can pay extra for local Hawaiian beef patties....This was the good. The bad, the onion rings were overcooked and the fish tacos just weren’t very good. Hamburgers are what they are known for, I would recommend sticking with the that.More
This is a small casual fast food type place, with great service and really good food. Mostly island type sandwiches and burgers that were outstanding. and very reasonably priced.
Perfectly cooked grass fed beef burger. Juicy and just the right amount of sloppy with onion rings on the side. Yum! It says 8th best cheeseburger from another review platform. I’d say at least 7th.
The best meal we have had in the last fortnight. Agree with other reviewers the onion rings were excellent. We had Kailua park, which was moist smokey flavoured, and delicious. Also loco moco, as well as cheese and bacon burgers (which were meaty and dense...with little lettuce or other fillings, just what the teen ordered). The sweet potato fries were on point. Give this place a try for a good hearty burger with great sides. A few tables inside and some outside. 20 minutes wait for food.More
This place advertises that it is the 8th best hamburger in the US. It was pretty good. We got the poblano burger and the lava burger. My wife said the lava burger was amazing and delicious. The waffle cut sweet potato fries were really good....I didn’t love the sauce on the poblano burger, but it was good overallMore
we had the take out fresh fish tacos 3x during our stay in Kona. Location was close to our hotel just off Alii Drive. Generous sides of macaroni salad and rice. Billed as a burger joint but you can't beat the fish. Yumm.
Great meal stop, with friendly service followed by delicious food It's in a courtyard a few steps off the main street. There are indoor tables, but we found a shady outdoor spot in which to enjoy our meal. The food is excellent! We had and...enjoyed tacos with that day's freshly-caught fish, a unique macadamia/pesto burger, sides (pineapple cold slaw and sweet potato fries). A lovely place for a quiet, yummy break in busy, fun Kailua townMore
We were looking for a good meal not far from our hotel. We ordered take out fish tacos with sides of macaroni and Cole slaw. Although it seems a little pricey at $22, this is fresh not frozen fish. Tucked away off Alii drive. Generous...servings and great staff.More
Although this place is known for burgers, I opted not to have one and substituted chicken instead...it was a good choice, delicious. I did order the onion rings and the reputation for these being among the best in the US is well-earned, they were wonderful...and I loved that they used larger pieces of onion. Outdoor seating was nice, even when the temps were a little warmer than expected. Well worth the visit!More
Inexpensive place to eat all cooked to order, which means kind of slow 20 minutes for a burger seems long, but it was pretty good. Onion rings were good. That’s all I got on this one.
