Great local food, reasonably priced

If you have a healthy appetite, try the local favourite " Loco Moco" . It is my meal of choice. The " Big Saimin" should not be missed. Close to downtown Kona with ample parking. You won't be disappointed.

We ate here twice because the chicken Teiyaki was the best thing we have ever eaten on the planet. Wow what can you say when you can't even talk because the food was so good.

Every time I had driven by the big island grill, it has always seemed to be full of people - at any time of the day! Therefore the food must be very good. So I decided to try it out with my family. We had the coconut shrimp salad, the teriyaki chick and the saimin noodle soup. All dishes were... More

So, busy place, but quick and friendly service, food was good, no fuss home cooking. Chops, chicken and steak, good! But the dessert choices, heaven! And the slices are large enough for 2! Both the Hawaiian Mudd pie, and the flourless chocolate cake was very, very good!

We ate lunch here and it was so good. You just keep eating because it is sooo good. My husband had the Katsu chicken salad and I had the coconut shrimp salad. The salad dressing is out of the world. I had bites of the chicken and it was very tasty. My coconut shrimp were also very tasty. Good Hawaiian-American... More

Based upon other reviews we stopped in for breakfast. The pancakes were great and they serve Spam! The service was friendly and our food was served very quickly. Don't forget to sign in when you go.

We took our family with 2 young children and the restaurant was very accommodating and had a great selection for kids. The wait staff was smiling and warm and the food was great and big portions ! Great value !! We will definitely be back on a future trip !

Came here my first night after over 30 hours of travel from the mainland to Kona. It was a much-welcomed hot and filling meal. I ordered the Loco Moco (which everyone must as it's a local food!) with the chicken katsu - it is traditionally made with a hamburger patty. It is a plate of fried rice, egg, meat, all... More

Inexpensive, tasty and generous portions. The pancakes were large and perfectly done. The pork chops and eggs came with grilled onions and mushrooms done to perfection. Eggs for everyone were perfectly done. Bacon was great. Coffee is good. A must-try for the tourist and you can always find locals frequenting the restaurant: a good sign. A great value!
