One of the best Poke in Kona. We ordered one Poke plate and one Lau Lau. Poke was good, but the Lau Lau was just ok, not as tasty as before Prices are higher than other places

Definite must stop if looking for poke on Big Island. Small, easily missed from the road storefront spot. Little parking in front so if busy may have to park on street. About 8 choices of poke available on my visit. And same on sides. You...order bowl or plate by how many different fish and side dishes you want-a bowl being two fish and one side with white or brown rice. I chose garlic shrimp and shack special poke-ahi tuna marinated in miso and honey with roasted seaweed. Side was sesame garlic edamame. Both fish items were delicious, fresh tasting and seasoning was perfect. Good size portion of both. My only complaint, and this may just be something in the islands I’m not familiar with, was the edamame was tough. Not cooked much at all it seemed so they were stringy and hard, like chewing on tree bark almost. Not at all like the edamame I’ve had numerous times in Japanese restaurants. Unpleasant. But a very good meal nonetheless.More

My husband was so excited for this most of all and was not disappointed. He had done his research and loved this place. Be sure to ask about their special as for him, it really was! Busy place, that's how you know it is good!

We always send our friends here when we hear they are visiting the Big Island. Everyone loves it. We couldn't miss it on our return trip to the island this year, either. I personally ate there twice this time. Can't get enough of it. The...entire family (seven of us) were very happy with our selections. Even our non-fish eater was super excited about what she ordered, the shredded pork plate. The poke is fresh, not frozen which sets it apart from almost all other poke places. Then there's the selection, wow! So many flavors/styles. The sides are amazing too. I can never decide so I end up getting a plate vs a bowl. It's not a bargain place but it's not over priced either. Great for getting to go or sitting out on their picnic tables outside. My one major suggestion, get there earlier in the day than later. Once they run out of an item, it's out for the day.More

Walked down the Da Poke Shack. Large variety of fresh tasty poke. You don’t go here for the atmosphere, it’s all about the large variety of fresh poke to take home or out front on a picnic table. You is you like poke, this is...the place to go.More

We stopped for lunch and treated ourselves to seaweed salad, spicy shrimp and an octopus dish that was delicious – but halfway through I thought about how intelligent the creatures are and couldn’t finish. Wah. The food was takeout and choice-driven. You start with rice,...then add your desired toppings. Quite delicious but the beer was very expensive.More

Even though this place is a shack that closes early the poke is amazing! I definitely recommend this place, especially if you’re passing by and staying nearby like we were.

three of us got the poke bowl for $13.50 each, and one of us splurged and got the poke plate for $23.50. This was take-out so you might consider it expensive but it was good which is what counts. Hawaii is not a cheap... More
