Chef Makani created this "Quick-service" Burger restaurant catering to a broad spectrum of diners, including Vegetarian, Gluten-sensitive, and even Vegan guests. Amazing burger and fries

We stopped in for a burger and fries just before Christmas. We were amazed by the quality of the burgers and fries. The burger is served on a hot brioche bun - which I’ve never had, and the fries are twice fried and seasoned with fresh thyme and parsley. I also enjoyed the local hibiscus IPA. We questioned why we did not return a second time before leaving Kona!

Slow But Great Burgers

We ordered take out burgers from here during our stay and although we had to wait a while to pick up our order all the food was great and I'd recommend this place if you are in the mood for burgers. We appreciated some vegan and vegetarian options too. Four burgers and two servings of fries was approximately $55 before a tip.

Grass fed beef is amazing

I’ve never tasted such amazing ground beef before! Grass feed beef, cooked to order. Fresh brioche bun, and a wide selection of toppings to take this burger from amazing to spectacular ie: avocado, pineapple, etc. French fry sauce is to die for! We end up here at least twice a week when we are there.

Almost didn't go in as they had less business than everyone else.

Had read the reviews But when we walked in, despite the lines at the eateries around it, it was pretty bleak. She asked me on each burger how we liked it cooked, and they got 3 of the 4 perfect. Unfortunately my 11 yr olds medium well burger came out still oozing blood. I asked really nicely if they could microwave it a minute, it was a naked burger so no toppings to deal with. They really did not see a problem with it and insisted it was medium well despite the blood ooze and red rawness. They said they were not allowed to cook it further and if they had to then they would have to make a new one. Seemed like a waste but now we all finished and ready to leave before his burger came out, The other thing that was off putting is try to pay in cash, they prefer contactless payment but the counter worker is a bit pushy to have to give your tip in advance, you actually have to chose between, 15%, 18%, 20% 22%, 25% and lastly if you didn't like any of those choices, there is a final option for 'other'. Now there isn't service, you stand in line, order your food, fetch your own napkins & straws, then bus your own table when you are done. So you are tipping them for doing their jobs. I can see why they have someone standing out at the sidewalk with a sandwich board trying to attract business. There is also a Panda Express, Dairy Queens, Subway that we went to the next times. Also a really nice Taco Bell not far and a McDonalds across the street. Loved all the rest.

Good Burger, No Frills, Affordable (for Hawaii)

Small, no frills burger place with laid back vibe. Seating is utilitarian. Two TVs tuned to surfing channel. Arrived just before 4:30pm and no wait at order counter. By 5:15pm, a longish line was developing. Husband and I both chose the Ultimate cheeseburger. Burger came with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, choice of cheese (I choose the Tillamook cheddar) and aioli sauce. We shared an order of seasoned fries that came with the aioli as dipping sauce. Burger was delicious. Hand cut shoestring fries were fresh and also delicious. Took 12-15 minutes to get food. Ordered burgers cooked medium. One came medium, the other closer to medium rare. Drinks are bottled or fountain style. Seating available indoor and out. Indoor music volume was a little high, making it difficult to have a conversation while eating. Two ultimate cheeseburgers, one order fries, two cups water came to $31 with tip and tax. Would definitely have again.

Great burger

After spending a week in Hawaii paying 2-3x $ for mediocre meals, this was a welcomed delicious change! Unfortunately we found this on the way to the airport and wished we would have known about it earlier! The double burger was huge- juicy and delicious. Fries were thin and freshly cooked with a great dipping sauce. The salad was fresh, enough for a meal. Service was great. Recommend.

Raw burgers

This place was not good! The guy behind the counter was super nice but overwhelmed with the crowd. There were 7 of us. Everyone ordered their burgers medium well except me who ordered it well done. Mine came almost completely rare and everyone else's came out medium rare. Service was slow. We waited in line about 30 minutes to place our order and it took about 30 minutes to "cook" our order. The fries were fine. Nothing to write home about. We couldn't believe how bad this place was especially after reading all the glowing reviews. Go to Kona Brewing Co or anywhere else instead!

Local grass feed beef patties

Local grass feed beef patties that are full of flavor. My daughter loves the fries with their special aioli dipping sauce. Recently I stepped up my game and got the double. I had to deep breath the last couple bites. Only thing I don’t recommend is eating it in the car like I did.

Best burger on the Big Island!

Best burger on the Big Island! The grass fed beef patty was juicy and flavorful. That’s what sold it for my husband and I. You can tell it wasn’t a frozen patty. This was way better than a burger I had at a higher price point.

Best Burger Ever!

These are the best burgers I've ever had! Fresh organic meat from local cows. Love the sauce they use. It's very messy to eat, I always need a couple of napkins. The fries are incredible too and they come with their own dipping sauce. I can't recommend this place enough. This is one of my favorite places to eat.

This is by far the best store bought burger I have ever tasted. Hawaii bun, grass fed Kona beef, local raised vegetables. I recommend not leaving Kona without tasting, Early in your visit so you can sample again. We visited 3 time in one week. Worth the travel time from Bham to Kona

Love a good burger and the reviews sounded like a match. Small mall front place is misleading as the burger was local beef and cooked to order (expect 10minute wait for your food) and choice of cheese made for a 4 napkin delicious dinner. Home made lemonade was a good companion to the cheeseburger in paradise . Small so quite cozy but the lines never seemed to get shorter while we were there. Friendly staff was very efficient taking orders and keeping the process moving.

Delicious, quick food

The food was fast and delicious. We ordered two Ahi burgers and a cheeseburger, all with fries. The ahi was seared perfectly and the sriracha sauce was delicious on the fries and the burgers. Although it’s a little spot in a strip mall, the food was something you could find at a stuffier restaurant.

Best Burger???

I along with my Son and Wife went in here as we wanted something after sitting on the plane for 5 hours and waiting for a car for 30 minutes. Anyway I had the Triple Angus grass fed burger with everything medium. I could not finish it. Two things make sure you get well done if you don’t like red meat showing. And frys are extra, as well as drinks. Also, if you want a plastic straw for your drink you need to ask. Paper straws are the norm in hawaii as well as reusable bags. You will not get plastic bags for your grocery’s. so be prepared to buy reusable bags.

Wonderful burger, order your way so many choices. They have mobile ordering and follow instruction on burger very will, in person has few more options as well. Daily fish sandwich selection. Highly recommend if you are a burger fan.
