Well known no frills local food spot. Solid take on Hawaiian style eating, large portions well prepared and a large varied menu. Daily specials are interesting and good. Be sure to check out the bakery and desert offerings.

Went here twice and both times got the wrong order. After getting my order, I had the wrost burger I've ever tasted. Definitely do no recommend.

The Pine Tree Cafe was recommended by the Budget shuttle driver when we asked if she knew of a good place for breakfast. It's a short drive from the airport and easy to find. The place was not crowded, but definitely a hangout for the locals. The food was hot and tasty, but presented on throw away plastic plates with... More

Was recommended to us at the car rental desk. Great food at reasonable prices. Wide variety of food, ranging from tuna melt sandwiches to Hawaiian sample meal, along with many great menu items between. I had the Hawaiian sampler meal, which set the bar for meals during our vacation there, Had other Hawaiian meals, at about the same quality, and... More

My wife and I ate at the Pine Tree Cafe for lunch today. Their menu is extensive, listing many local items. We tried the Ono fish and chips. We ordered only one plate, which we shared. We got five nice pieces of Ono, french fries, and a side salad. We also ordered a side of potato mac salad. The Ono... More

My wife and were driving to our hotel in Kona town and we spotted the Pine Tree Cafe in a small plaza just off Rt. 19 on Hulikoa Drive. Since we were starving, we just had to stop and both of us were glad we did. Pine Tree isn't much on decor. Just a spare but large dining area, a... More

The food was ok. The prices were reasonable. I remember the food tasting better in the past. I don't know if the cook is different now or something but our food was rather salty but we were hungry so we ate it anyway.

We left the airport before we realized how hungry we were and happily found this place just a few miles away. Our whole family liked what they ordered (mahi mahi burger, shrimp burger, teriyaki chicken burger and a hot dog). Prices seemed very reasonable. Seemed like a local spot but did not feel out of place as a traveling family.

They have a very extensive menu covering breakfast, American and local cuisine. We usually stop in on the way to Kona from the airport. Weekday lunch is very busy so plan on that. Everything we have had is very good. I like the fish or katsu chicken.
