On Friday, November 18th we planned to drive to Hilo to visit two botanical gardens. In the morning we went to “Bongo Ben’s Island Café” to have basic breakfast. They open at 6.30. Breakfast was decent. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, ham, wheat toast, jam, coffee in my case. Same and bacon instead of ham in Vallery’s. Vallery did not care about... More

The Benedict and the cinnamon rolls will blow your mind! Great service and it's right across from the ocean. Always visit several times every time I'm back in Kona.

We enjoyed great tasting food while looking at the water front. We got a 20% discount so it was about the same price as on the main land. Most places in Hawaii are open air so birds landed at the edge of our table for crumbs and a gecko also came to visit while we were eating.

Went to breakfast and was pleased with the food and the view of the Kona harbor was great. Very casual and the wait staff were pleasant. Prices were a surprise as Kona has become quite expensive .

We had breakfast here twice on our recent vacation to Kona. The first visit we had the grandkids with us. Ages 10 months and 30 months. They welcomed the kids and had a good kids menu. The second time was more relaxed with just me and the wife. The view is outanding. The breakfasts are good and reasonably priced. The... More

We were looking forward to the Thanksgiving Day special at Bongo Ben's. We had a great view of the sunset over the ocean, but were very disappointed with the food overall. Although the servings were large, the food was of poor quality. Turkey was dry. The dressing tasted like it came from a box that had passed its " best... More

The view is the best part of this place! Our server wasn't overly enthusiastic; seemed a little annoyed to be working. We asked about happy hour and she said, "yup, it is". I was looking for some information on what exactly was included in their happy hour. We each ordered items on the menu that were marked as "house favorites".... More
