I had a to go order bc wait time for table too long! Food is great but the hostess Bri manse me return to this place because she goes above & beyond to make sure your order is to the point-I have foodallergies galore &...in between seating customers & booking seating she is a pro through & through! I ordered the “Kahakai” just divine -all my cells were jumping for joy:)) Next day I ordered the hearts of palm salad & oh the bamboo green rice -I could eat that daily & ordered it for all my meals there regardless of whether it came w/meal or not!More

We loved everything about Huggo's. The oceanfront location is wonderful. Staff were attentive. But the shrimp sizzling appetizer was the big hit.

An incredible experience. Our visit started on a busy Monday with a wonderful greeting by the hostess. We asked for a waterfront table to celebrate our anniversary….and she enthusiastically promised she get us a great location. After a 15 minute wait, we were seated on...the lower level waterfront with a great view of the sunset. The meal was superb. As an appetizer, the fish chowder came in a small bowl, and was easily the best fish chowder I’ve ever had-incredibly delicious, full of fish. Honestly, I could have had another bowl for dinner, but instead had the short ribs and shrimp. Again, Just a tremendous meal. My wife had teriyaki steak which was also excellent. We decided to take on dessert with one of the house ice cream special. They are huge!! We almost finished it. Service was superb and overall I’d say prices are reasonable. We found Hugo’s to be far and away the best dining experience in Kona, clearly a cut above all the tourist centered places there.More

Huggo's was next door to our hotel (Royal Kona Resorts) and we saw long lines as we walked past going on our way to the main strip. One day we walked by before they were open for dinner and we had drinks while waiting for...the kitchen to open. We were given a table with a great ocean view, the waitress was very friendly and attentive, the fresh and exquisitely prepared food arrived quickly and was excellent. A real treat!!! It was so good we ate there the following night too!!!More

This restaurant is quite popular and next door to the Royal Kona Resort. I highly recommend you make reservations bc the wait could be up to an hour long. They specialize in seafood and it is the only restaurant ion Alii Drive that offers Cioppino...which was delicious! The ocean view is spectacular and the staff highly attentive!More

Amazing, always ask about the fresh catch of the day. Their mai tais are the best in town and i absolutely loved their macademia nut crusted mahi mahi

We were staying at the Royal Kona Hotel. This restaurant is right next to the hotel. Our meal was very good, and the atmosphere was second to none. We enjoyed our evening very much. Service was great, waitress was a hoot.

The food was good but way over salted and floating in butter. Ordered appetizers but they brought everything at the same time and just crowded it on the table. Told us how slow they were then had us wait 45 minutes. Beautiful views but everything...else was a bit of a let down.More

We were looking for a place that would take our group of eight people without reservations. Luckily, since we arrived on the early side, this place more than fit the bill! We had a great table overlooking a beautiful sunset in a perfect setting with...great service and tasty food. I can only comment on what I ordered, the Sizzling Shrimp skillet. The shrimp was delicious and hit the spot along with a Maui Big Swell IPA. Our whole group enjoyed our time here. It was a little pricey (my skillet was $24) but everything in Hawaii is.More

We went to the high end part of the restaurant $$$$. My husband and I ordered the NY Strip. The price was a whopping $48, so we figured it had to be really good. It wasn’t. The steak was tough, overdone (we ordered medium-rare), and...not even seasoned very well. They were short-staffed due to COVID, but that doesn’t excuse the poor food quality or taste. The steaks we ordered would’ve cost no more than $8 on the mainland. I realize it’s Hawaii, and everything costs more, but when your bill comes to $151 for a crappy meal, you have to say something.More

We both had the macadamia encrusted ono (wahoo for mainlanders), starters of the seafood chowder and the sizzling skillet of local mushrooms. Very fresh fish, well prepared, excellent sides. Fun atmosphere. Like all restaurants, place is a bit short staffed due to Covid but they...simply left some tables open rather than trying to run full and overtax the staff. Place was recommended by a local. Wine prices are reasonable if a limited selection.More

We tried twice during our 10 day stay to visit this restaurant. It's very busy, tiny little parking area however it was a great lunch stop (got there 30 minutes prior to opening) after all the effort. Lunch on the water with our feet in...the sand. Super attentive wait staff, hot delicious entrees and pretty view. We had fish tacos and fish & chips. Very satisfied and would return again next time we are on the island.More

Pretty restaurant on the shore near town. Good service. Foot not very good. I had the teriyaki steak that they raved about being a staple for many tears. It was a small hunk of mushy, overly strong sauced , thin meat. Not good.

They do serve really good breakfasts, and great breakfast pizzas, which I couldn't wrap my head around at first. However, they are awesome. Enjoy!

I did no sot see eel either. Just remember to sit away from the other Huggo's, though, if you want quiet.
