To be honest I expected not much when I drove my car in the morning and recognized this restaurant… This is absolutely a hidden champion! Very down to earth, high quality food and service. Authentic Croatian food - very delicious! Don’t miss ;-)

Excellent very family friendly restaurant. Our family of 7 had two brilliant evening meals. The hostess is fun, very good English and very welcoming. Food is of a very high standard and the shop inside is really good. Thank you to the restaurant for their hospitality and highly recommend this restaurant.

We ate here twice as it was so good first time, food was delicious and the service was brilliant. Cant fault this family run Resturant, simply brilliant.

Continental Istria experience not far from seaside

Decent dining in calm atmosphere not far from noisy and crowded Fažana, with typical Istrian continental food and some standard dishes as well. Very nice for children too, outside and inside.

Great food, great service!

We had a meat plate with fries, truffle fries and grilled veggies and Fritule as a desert. All of it was super delicious! The service was just as great as the food, very friendly and responsive. We‘ll definitely go there again!

For ham lovers

We discovered this late in our stay in Vodnjan, and wish we'd found it sooner. We ate there only once, as it was towards their end of season, and evening openings were restricted. Has a ranch-type atmosphere to it. Dining area is large and unpretentious. If you like ham you'll love it, as they make all their own produce. A good meal, with attentive service.

Excellent hidden treasure

We have been coming to Vodnjan for a few years, and have been to Vodnjanka many times. Oy discovered Stancija Bursic this year. It is on the road to Fazana, and down a farm track. Don't expect frills and gloss .... the restaurant is basically a square room with basic tables! The service, however is really friendly and makes the visit! You must have the Istrian platter to start .... after all this is really a famous meat production company that has a restaurant.... rather than the other way round. We've had the Biftek Stancija ... tagliata on rocket in a balsamic glaze ... fabulous. Also the steak in truffle and the steak in gorgonzola are both good. Well worth a visit ... you wont be disappointed.

Food lovely but service was lacklustre

This is a meat feast and best be hungry before you go. The family are in the meat business (hams, sausages) and the food is centred on this. There are lovely mixed cold ham platters to start and meat platters for mains. If you don't want meat there are some well cooked pasta options: my wife had a lovely cheese ravioli dish and we also had a pretty good pomodoro. Chocolate soufflé and panacotta desserts were both fantastic. It was a real shame that they appeared short handed: there were some large parties on other tables and this meant we weren't served particularly quickly or at all times accurately. Still, if you're prepared to live with this, it's ctainly worth a visit.

What a find ! We were staying round the corner and this being our local meant we had to try it, being a party of 11 it’s always a touch tougher to please everyone.... However even with a veggie and a very fussy eater ( and 5 other kids!) we found something for everyone. The very friendly (and good looking) waitress was welcoming and explained the menu. A friend and I opted for the special beef which was slow cooked for 6 hours and totally melted in your mouth. Just go for it I’m doing my review actually from the restaurant it’s that good!

We came here for our last meal in Istria. Very glad we did. The food was lovely,the steak was to die for. On top of that, the staff were just fantastic. Thank you. I wish we had restaurants like this in the UK.

Incredible Steak

This place was so good, we had to go back! The most superb, succulent steak you’ll ever have. If you’re staying in Vodnjan, it’s definitely worth a visit!

We walked past this restaurant on the outskirts of Vodnjan on a Sunday afternoon when it was closed. It had an interesting ranch like look from the gates but you couldn’t really tell what was hidden within. We were so very pleased to return here though on a stormy Tuesday evening where after calling ahead (in English which was no problem) to make a reservation for 10 to be met by very friendly staff. Most tables were taken and there was a very pleasant ambience to the marquee style dining area. The staff were simply amazing, informing us on the menu and recommended Istrian dishes. We started with the cured meat platter which was awesome. For mains, the three men in the group could not resist the ‘knee of a young cow’ which we believe was shin. It was phenomenal! So tender and served on a bed of beautifully seasoned potato chips with a variety of roasted veg and garlic. Others in the group enjoyed various pasta dishes but the stand out meal was the steak! The men of the group begged the lady who had it to share - which she did. So tender, full of flavour and such a enticing colour. Great to finish off with a Grappa. One of the best meals ever!
