Absolute must try for connoisseurs on the Belgian food trail. This place is stylishly outfitted, offering two floors of fine dinning. The food is pleasing to the palate as well as to the eye. Leave room for the " Koffie Verwend" - Which is coffee served with a selection of desserts. This is the best choice because you get to... More

Last september we visited this restaurant twice as we had a holiday in Oostduinkerke. Every time we were welcommed in a proffesional way. The service was very good. Most important: the dishes were of an outstanding quality and well presented. The bill was a positive surprice (if one sees the prices asked in the "tavernes" on the seaside-promenade).

I've always been happily suprised with the quality of the dinners I've had and I accepted the noise level somehow. Last time, the service wasn't great (too many new waiters?), the food was good but not enough and hence we were disturbed by the noise level. Will try again, but they lost some credit.

After years of visiting Belgium & seeing this place being rebuilt, we made an effort and got the Kuustram to visit for a drink and to look at the architecture. On arriving, we were told in no uncertain terms that it was not open for drinks and was a restaurant, despite the sign saying Bar. I explained that we had... More

For years we had observed the 'Normandie' from derelict to its final restoration. We were so excited to finally have the opportunity to eat there. So all dressed up and ready to go. . . We were greeted by a surly no, you are not expected, you do not have a reservation. We pointed out our name on the list... More

This was our second visit. On both occasions we were guest of a party in one of the private rooms. They quality of service was 5star and the food was delicious. The facilities are clean and they were very patient of the mess made by kids unwrapping presents and popping party poppers. I'd return again when next in Belgium. We... More

In this restaurant built in the shape of quality boat, you can enjoy great food. If you love lobster, you will have plenty of choice. Likewise they have great meet as well. As a starter, one should definitely take the one which consists of 4 different starters. We have been there several times and it remains a very nice experience.... More

...and last weekend I went! The restaurant is unusual as a building as it is in the shape of a steamship and more precisely the record holding Normandie. We only had a quick lunch (fettuccini in my case) but it was wonderful. Service was quick and friendly. Multilingual staff (Dutch, French but also English). I will certainly return for a... More

Eaten here a few times over the years. Never had a meal though. Like to have a type of "afternoon tea" here. For 10 Euro you get a pot of coffee plus 5 (or was it 6) exquisite desserts!
