We came here with a small group of friends to have dinner which was meat fondue and which was fine. They had some live music which was actually worse than the average music in an elevator but the worst thing was that the service and...hospitality was one of the worst I've experienced in ages. Especially the Australian owner was beyond unfriendly and behaved like a true witch. I wouldn't recommend this place. Waste of your money!More

I believe the place has been around for at least 30 years, and even if our last visit was 10+ years back, we instantly recognized the place. Same musicians, same menu and the "patron" lady sitting at her table in the back, playing solitaire and...counting the turnover of the day. Most people come in the ski gear and after 9pm, the spirits are quite lifted. So if you don't mind a classic after-ski ambience, live music and traditional pub-style food, Underground is the place to go. If you arrive around 8pm, you will benefit from watching the last me standing trying to ski down from Mooserwirt, located a few hundred meters up the slope, in complete darkness and with a blood-alcohol content which wouldn't allow you to go anywhere near a motorized vehicle. Quite amusing.More

We came here three days in a row. The music and atmosphere was sensational. We had drinks and a couple of snacks. Slightly older crowd . Quirky place. Friendly staff and owner .

We had a table booked for 7:30 Tuesday 9th April. Admittedly it was a large group and a number had pre ordered fondue. The fondue arrived o good time. Those who ordered a la carte were waiting 2 hours! Joan, the owner claimed that one...should expect to wait up to 3 hours at an a la carte restaurant. The lady is deluded. She just lost a loyal customer.More

Decided to call in for some food during the really busy Feb Half-term week about 8:30pm and it was packed as usual but the waitress had a word with Joan (the owner) who did the usual trick of managing to squeeze us on a table...somewhere with some other people. Food was great, I had my usual favourite of Duck Red Thai Curry which was excellent and nice and spicy washed down with a few Dunkel Weizenbiers. Food took a while to arrive but we were in no rush and it was nice and hot and fresh when we got it. The usual relaxed music (a piano player and a guitar player) was on as expected and and they played some classic songs. I've reviewed this place once before under it's other entry as 'The underground on the piste'. It never really changes and still has the same vibe as the original underground bar (down near pub37 for people that know the area) that closed many years ago. The owner treats the bar very much like her own house and not all customers like her style of running it but for me it's one of the best places in town.More

Our three visits to the underground this week proved a highlight of our ski trip. Having tried to enjoy the Apre Ski at The Moose up the piste, which was rammed, we returned to the underground to be met with a warm welcoming atmosphere and...lively but comfortable engagement with fellow visitors, staff and musicians alike. We had booked for Wednesday and Friday night and while it was a bit cramped and the owner was omnipresent, if you went with the flow of the evening it was really great, food was delicious both times. The atmosphere is unique and the owner bears responsibility for that. We chatted with a couple, one of whom worked at the underground many years ago and she said it has not changed one bit. So whilst other people may have had a different experience, if you are able to book a table and maybe sit with others, maybe even sharing a table to listen to Leon and James Carter Stringfellow, you will I'm sure come away feeling it was a wonderfully unique experience to be remembered.More

We found the underground early in our week after reading these reviews. We found ourselves sat right in front of the "band" on our first visit and enjoyed their music and fun all washed down with a few beers - lots of well known sing-a...long hits. We spotted the lady owner in her corner spot and she seemed unconcerned and busy doing her paperwork. We returned later in the week and she looked straight at us, we just pointed to the same table and asked if we could sit there, she said yes - we again enjoyed the music and had some snacks, which were very good. When we left we spoke briefly to her about what good fun the band were and she thanked us for our comments. Very nice different type of Apres-ski environmentMore

Not a nice experience! We should have known better and left immediately! We thought we would try out this bar/restaurant as we had heard it was good! Whilst deciding whether to have a drink or eat as well an old woman who was sat across...the room having her dinner started barking at us “are you eating, are you eating?” Bit odd, we thought, but decided that we would eat and to be fair we had an ok meal. However the trouble really got started after we had finished. There was a singer in the bar and people were singing along and playing maracas etc. I made the fatal error of singing along for a few minutes as well. When we went to leave the old woman rushed over to me, patted me down, and was shouting that I had stolen her maracas! I was so embarrassed by her behaviour we just left. However, when we got outside I realised that she was completely out of order so I went back in and told her that her behaviour was so awful we would never come back and that as we are in st Anton for the season we would have eaten there a lot. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - SHE DOESN’T DESERVE YOUR MONEYMore

Booked a table for 6 days in advance only to be told by the waitress that two more people (strangers) would be joining our table for the evening. When this was questioned an Australian lady presented herself and told us in no uncertain terms to..."Feel free to go somewhere else". Which we did! Such a shame that what looked like a decent venue with some decent reviews could be let down by such a rude and ungrateful attitude. Conclusion: best avoided.More
