Oliver and Claudia run a great restaurant. We are regular visitors in summer and winter and this remains one of our favourites when up the mountain.

Excellent restaurant with fantastic views just off the summit of the Schmittenhohe. Try the germknodel with vanilla sauce especially if they serve the blueberry version.

Called in briefly for a hot drink and staff were very friendly and attentive so we decided to pop back later for food - had bacon dumpling in soup and my other half had spinach dumplings in cheese sauce. Absolutely loved mine, very tasty and definitely homemade. Just about had room for homemade cheese curd cake which they brought with... More

Came in to drink and eat yesterday. Waiter was very arrogant and didn't let us sit and choose from menu. We asked him to wait for a while and come back. No, it was not possible. Told us, that we had to know what we want to drink now. He was standing next to us until we ordered... After drink,... More

Went here for lunch while skiing. I rate this highly not for the food, though the pea soup we had was really good, but the charm and atmosphere was great. People smiled and greeted you all around. Scnaps and beer was drunk And there was singing to be heard! Just a lot of fun all around! Still: no drunk people hitting... More

We had a great time after a day on the slopes. Great Happy Hour stop after coming down off of the mountain.

Stopped here for lunch in beautiful Zell am See where I have lived for the last 10 years. The waitress was rude from the first greeting and things went downhill from there. 45 minute wait for food which, when it arrived, was a very small portion and of poor quality. My children shared a dish and we were charged €0.50... More

I had lunch here twice during my recent ski trip. I've hardly felt more civilized in my entire life, which is not to say Hochzeller-Alm is fancy. Most of the other huts I encountered on Schmitten tended to have a more modern feel and seemed geared toward the dance on the bar in your ski boots crowd. Hochzeller has a... More
