Friendly and fast service. Cozy atmosphere. Ordered duck and it was very tasty. Fair prices. Closed Wednesday.

We ate here twice last week and found it excellent. The welcome was very warm and the service from the 2 charming waitresses was pleasant and efficient. It was a nice touch to be given a delicious complimentary starter, not something we experienced elsewhere in Austria. The main courses were superb, not huge but certainly sufficient, and beautifully presented, the... More

Found Dorfstadl to be one of the better restaurants in Kaprun. My venison was well prepared, not overcooked, tender and flavorful. The atmosphere was fun and was a great place to share a meal and drinks with friends.

We visit Kaprun regularly for skiing and usually always visit Dorfstadl for very good Austrian cuisine and wine. Great ambiance in a unique old barn restoration. Hot steak on the hot stones is a speciality and worth trying, plus the free bib you get.

Went there with the family. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Everyone was happy with the food. The suckling pig served on a hot stone was fantastic. The wooden interior is great.

A delightful meal to end the holiday. A fantastic building with very tasteful Austrian interior making the barn-looking outside come to life on the inside. We were welcomed by lovely staff including a very kind and funny old man who I presume is the owner. A free starter came as a surprise but was fantastic. I opted for the rump... More

The food was nice-we ordered 2 onion soup that was o.k. nothing to write home about-I ordered for the main course a ville Shnitzel that was swimming in oil-my wife's choice was much better -a risoto with a local fish that was really good-the service was also no more than o.k.-bottom line-average food and 2 expensive 75 EU with no... Ate here twice during my stay. The food and wine was perfect. It was a strange place - inside traditional Tyrolean furniture and farm implements, but entrance hall uninviting, anteroom after opening front door had a traditional Catholic confessional built into the furniture - (presumably still in use on Holy days). Outside the building didn't look particularly inviting with red... More

This is a real find. The restaurant is tucked away from the main centre of Kaprun (which isn't large itself of course!) and looks like a large barn on the outside. Inside, you are transformed into some bizarre Tyrolean film set, with huge wooden beams, sturdy wooden furniture and farm equipment and enamel bowls (!) hanging from the walls and... More

We wanted to just sit with a glass of wine. As soon as the waitress discovered she began to be very reluctant. She ignored us. We went to another restaurant. Never more. And we had planned to go there for dinner all week.
