We loved the Surley IPA and the breaded baked green beans. We had gobbled them up before I remembered to take a photo. We also had the meatball sampler with the Asian sausage, brat sausage and bison sausage. There were five small meatballs of each type, on a bed of spinach and a side of sauerkraut with a great whole-grain... More

I wanted to avoid the complete tourist trap places but get great food. I was in town 4 days and this was by far the best. The beer selection is awesome. The food quality, sustainable, local, creative. The service SHONE though. If you're lucky Bobbi will be there as your server although I suspect the others are great too!

We stopped here one rainy afternoon after arriving in town. This brewery is small and on this day featured 3 beers they brewed along with a small food menu. The beers were very interesting. each had been made using a different barrel (red wine, whisky, tequila) to impart flavor in the individual beers. You can get taster size if you... More

Neat little place. They were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. There were beers aged in whiskey kegs and tequila kegs. They took on a very unique flavor. Enjoyed trying the different beers. They had food but we didn't order. Small menu but the food looked and smelled very good.

I had a delicious chicken pot pie that tasted homemade. Good craft beers (2 of their own and others) and really nice, friendly staff. There's a neat energy in here"

What a GREAT place to stop for lunch or dinner. My partner & I stopped for dinner and it was great. Great service, wonderful food with local ingredients and friendly staff. Right in downtown Custer stop and take a break. Eat at Bitter Esters and then enjoy a walk around town. Small but friendly. Enjoy

We stopped in for a beer in the afternoon. We found the brewhouse clean and bright. The staff was friendly and always smiling. We each had a Black Tooth IPA which we found to be very good. Great place to stop in and have a cold one.

We stopped here for a late lunch while traveling in the area. The staff was very friendly and informative. We were a small group of 3 and showed up around 3pm. It was hard to choose which meal to order. The description of the different dishes made it tough to pick just one. We finally decided and we were very... More

We did not want to wait for dinner so we popped in and got a table at the bar. Omg! The sausage was delicious and their craft beer Up Up And Away spot on. The staff was great even while it was crazy busy. Has something for everyone and even my picky 11ur old

Our trip included 6 nights in the Black Hills. On day 5 in the BH we decided to stop in Custer for our daily family meal, we being my wife and our 6 kids (ages 8-17). After talking hearing about the homemade food - brat patties, coleslaw, and cold corn chowder we were all in. We ALL agreed it was... More
