If you go anywhere in New Orleans and like oysters you have to go to the Creole House Restaurant and Oyster bar. They by far have the best Chargrilled Oysters I have ever ate, not just in New Orleans but anywhere. It’s buttery and flavorful...goodness with fresh parmesan melted on top. Your oysters are shucked and made to order right in front of you on flaming grill, seasoned to perfection and served with a slice of buttery French bread to soak up that New Orleans flavor. You can’t ask for better!More

Salad and crab cakes were outstanding. Fried shrimp and french fries we're below standards. Bread pudding with caramel sauce was amazing. Fried shrimp or small and overcooked. French fries were underwhelming to say the least. Service was fantastic. This is one of those restaurants where...you might leave with a much higher opinion if you order the right stuff. I do not recommend theMore

Went there as it was just around the corner from our timeshare and it was was raining. When the hostess took us to our table we asked to be seated further from the bar as it was noisy. She seem put off by that but...moved us. I thought the was going to be the way the evening was going to go. Wrong! We had looked at the menu online and liked 3 of the items. When our waitress, A’Brionna, came to the table she recommended two dishes which were 2 of the 3 we were thinking of. My wife and I shared the stuffed fish and I think it was redfish Orleans. Both were amazing.we didn’t need dessert but asked for the dessert menu anyway. A’Brionna recommended pecan cobbler. Her second home run. Amazing how a pleasant and friendly service can change the he mood.More

It’s not Commander Palace, it’s not a K-Paul or a Brennens, Its not an Acme Oyster Bar. It’s a solid, down to earth restaurant serving unbelievably great food. The night we were there, it was crowded, slightly pushy and noisy. The wait staff was seemingly...overworked by this time but incredibly cordial. And like Santa up the chimney, with a nod of the head and a flair of the menu, it was time to order. We started with an appetizer of grilled garlic bacon oysters. Had I known they were going to be good as they were, I would have ordered 12 of them and made them a meal and not had to share them with the table. By this time , my son, the non-foodie, was becoming way too predictable and ordered a dozen raw oysters, once again. Following the predictable raw oysters entree, came a bowl of pasta jambalaya. After 10 minutes of consuming this dish, my wife simply stated she was out of adjectives and wanted to close by saying….the dish was so good it will want to make you slap your momma. As usual, I am the trailing act, I ordered an entree of Creole stuffed fish which consisted of a southern gulf fish fillet stuffed with Louisiana crawfish dressing topped with crawfish cream sauce, served with sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes. I really don’t want to be redundant or accused of being cliche, but this was some of the best food we have tasted in years. And trust me we have been in a lot of places and eaten in a lot of restaurants and not to coin a phrase…..of all the gin joints in all the world, I am so happy we walked in to this one. There was a topper however, we discovered something called warm pecan cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Once again, I’m lost for woods and my wife and kid are no help. Let me just say…..get into your cars and go find this place.More

Our last night in NOLA and my husband picked this place out! The charbroiled oysters were to die for so delicious, the crab cakes mouth watering! We all got a pasta dish. The Cajun Alfredo was delicious with shrimp. We ate it all and had...to go for a long walk afterwards. Amazing foodMore

Waited 45 minutes to sit down to eat. They said they only had swating at the bar. 30 people waiting outside for tables. Finally got in and there was five tables open that needed to be cleared or were vacant. I guess things do run...slower in New Orleans. The guys at the the bar were good in handling our order. Really enjoyed charbroiled oysters. M po boy was good but the sampler was cold.More

Amazing!!! ... a step back in time, but starting with the staff, everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and very personable! The real star of this establishment is the food!! From the morning after breakfast which was bountiful, the avocado toast is a healthy choice, the gulf...coast omelette was one of the best ever - plenty of shrimp along with the freshest crab filling that didn't taste fishy .... annnnd, the mimosa sunrise topped off brunch!!! We are definitely coming back for dinner and the oysters!!!More

This place will always have a wait to get in. And it is worth it. We eat here every time we drive thru New Orleans just for the grilled oysters. Shrimp and creamy cheese grits will knock your socks off. Bread pudding is better than...granny could make. The only down side is when you leave you will be miserably full because you want leave a scrap behind: so forget the doggy bag.More

Fantastic food! We got some beers then had the grilled oysters and French onion soup. Both were great. For the main course I got the “Taste of New Orleans” and the 4 dishes were all fantastic. It can get very busy here and the waits...can be long and they don’t take reservations. One of the hostesses was incredibly rude but the server and other host made up for it. Definitely recommend trying this place.More

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
