They really make you feel welcomed and the food is DELICIOUS. Was also the first real cup of coffee I had on my visit to NOLA.

Grilled cheese with tortilla soup special was very good, but I was astounded by the size of the salads I saw. It's quite busy for lunch, but I'd love to go back and try some of the salads.

I walked here from the Hilton to get some lunch with the locals. The place was hopping this Wed noon. The tables were all taken so I got mine to go and it was well worth it. I had one of the daily specials and it was wonderfully tasty and obviously fresh. It was great watching the owner embracing friends... More

I went for lunch on my New Orleans visit. I have had muffuletta's before but not a New Orleans muffuletta. As I entered the small crowded deli I glanced at the variety of plates customers were consuming. Unique tasty looking salads and mouth watering sandwich 's. But I was here for one thing, the famous New Orleans muffuletta. The muffuletta... More

I had a turkey sandwich at this quaint little deli and it tasted great! It was mouth-watering and huge - two qualities that you want in your food. : ) Will definitely go there when I visit New Orleans again.

How many times have you wanted to grab something quick for lunch but all of the options were, at the end of the day, crap? Worry no more! Welty's serves up delicious daily soups, huge salads, and sandwiches almost too big to get your mouth around. Sometimes when you get a sandwich you open the bread to see just how... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
