I have tried most BBQ restaurants in New Orleans, The Joint is by far the best in the city. I had the three meat combo plate. Ribs, brisket, sausage, my sides where potato salad and Mac n cheese. Wow the ribs was good meaty, tender and smokey. The brisket was really good smoke ring, tender and very tasty, the best... More

This place is a little off the beaten path, and it's also a little small on the inside, but the BBQ is excellent. The chicken had a great smoke flavor, the pulled pork melts in your mouth, and the sausage was juicy and spiced very well. The sides were all good, and the portions are nice. For lunch, I'd recommend... More

After reading reviews about this place. It was a must when we went to New Orleans. We decided to go early because we hear it gets busy. We looked up to see how far of a walk it was. It was 2.7 miles from our hotel. So we decided to walk it. When we got to the street there was... More

My husband and I both ordered our own "plates" while visiting this establishment. We both just got one side with ours and I'm glad that's all we got. I got brisket and pork and he did "the w" which was pork, brisket, and ribs. We both had plenty of food leftover and I'm proud to say we each got two... More

When we got to Nawlins, we always stop at The Joint. The neighborhood looks sketchy, but it's not. The food is incredible. If you like BBQ, this is the place to go.

After working for several months in New Orleans I set out to find the best BBQ in the city! I had a couple of pretty good experiences at other places but being a big fan of great BBQ I wasn't really impressed until I stumbled onto The Joint! By far the best in New Orleans with great service and a... More

We ordered take out for 5 of us that included: Baby back ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, baked beans, and potato salad, The dinners come with white bread for some reason not the rolls from Leidenheimer's Bakery (these are used throughout NOLA for poor boys), just white bread. The ribs were excellent. The pulled pork comes with a thin vinegar... More

This place was a true treat. Busy and happening out of the main tourist area. I recommend the BBQ chicken (the smokey is to die for) and baked beans with Mac and cheese as a side. Also use the sauces on the table as a good addition.

My husband and I have had BBQ from all over the country and we are pretty picky! This place is the best BBQ we have ever eaten! You have to travel off the beaten path a little way. It was a $6 UBER ride from our hotel. You go up to the counter to order. They bring your food to... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
