After we came to this little place for breakfast our first day in New Orleans, it became a morning tradition that I looked forward to everyday thereafter. Great, great breakfast with NOLA-inspired specials that are something different (especially for non-locals) and tasty. An excellent mild coffee blend ties everything together wonderfully. Even the toast is delicious. This casual restaurant is... More

Ok guys this little gem is definitely worth a visit if you are straying from the touristy area of Canal and Bourbon. First off, Magazine street is beautiful, I love the houses. Upon, entering the eatery, I was greeted before I even made it all the way in the door, we picked were we wanted to sit and I couldn't... More

I love this little place! I had a fresh pineapple banana juice along with French toast and Migos with Chorizo! Always fresh and delicious! I just wish they get a bigger spot so I can bring plenty of people!!! You will enjoy anything on the menu. Great bang for your bucks!!

Our party of seven checked in at 11ish on a Saturday morning. We told them we were fine with being split and waited about 20 minutes for our tables. We were seated right next to one another. at our table we had shrimp and grits, Bananas Foster French toast, and the crab melt. We also ordered a biscuit just because... More

My husband enjoyed french toast stuffed with cream cheese and a bananas foster rum sauce. I had an amazing plate of home made corned beef hash and eggs. The corned beef practically melted in my mouth. We were very happy to find this lovely place for a weekend brunch. The place seemed like it is always hopping, but we didn't... More

I feel so lucky to find out about Surrey's from talking to some real cool local New Orleanors while I sneakers shopped... BTW, New Orleans in general has the best trendy sneaker stores and I am from NYC. That's another topic, I digressed. Surrey's is located in the residential part (Garden's) of New Orleans where typical tourists don't go. Therefore... More

We love to try recommendations of Guy Fieri and this was one of those!!! We had great service and awesome food! The server recommended we share our po-boy which was the best idea as it was more than enough for us two!

We arrived for brunch and told there was a 45 minute wait; 2.5 hours later we were seated. The food was good, but it is difficult to justify that kind of a wait...

This is a cute, quaint restaurant with original artwork on the walls and delicious food. Don't go extremely hungry, as chances are you will probably have to wait for a seat. But the food is worth the wait. We had shrimp and grits, potatoes, and a smoked salmon omelette.

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
