My wife and I went to Surrey's twice for breakfast and both times the food was delicious!! I highly recommend the shrimp and grits! Good service too!

Took a short walk to Surrey's for brunch. Fortunately a short line and we were seated quickly. We selected from the specialties list - shrimp and grits and crab and avocado omelet. Neither disappointed, both came out very warm and the flavor was outstanding! Oh, and yes, we had some juice - limeade. We were here about a year ago... More

We were staying at an AirBnB in the Lower Garden District so we walked over for breakfast one of the mornings. The place was bustling, service was above average, and the prices were very reasonable. The breakfast burrito in particular was quite good!

Our family really wanted to go here, so we waited for about an hour for a table. The food was SO good! The crab omelette and bananas foster French toast were to die for!!! Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed all their food. The downside of the place is that it is very cramped quarters and the wait was almost... More

This is supposed to be a Juice Bar, but I didn't see a lot of Juice options, maybe it was on a different menu. The food was good, i got a avocado, brie, and crab omelet, which was waaaaay too rich for me. It was okay, I would have preferred goat cheese over brie (they put a lot of brie... More

Surrey's a cute, busy spot. Our first breakfast here in Nola and we were pretty pleased. Everyone was friendly and seemed to help out with drinks and checking up on tables. We both had the "local favorite" - crab meat omelette. Got better as the meal went on and the various flavors came together (had crab, avocado, and brie). Presentation... More

I saw the reviews and it was close to our hotel. We're glad we went. The banana foster is great. It was dessert for breakfast. The Mediterranean croissant was delicious. Will go there next trip to New Orleans!

I finally made my way over to Surrey's after hearing raves about the place. Since I had heard so much about the wait, I decided to go around one in the hopes that I wouldn't have to wait as long. The wait wasn't terrible- about 15 minutes. The first thing I noticed was how attentive the wait staff is here.... More

I've been to this place several times. The menu and the food are excellent. Anything on the menu is good. My favorites are the Costa Rican breakfast, the salmon with eggs, and the huevos rancheros. Great funky atmosphere. Definitely hit this spot if you can! Oh yes, also the crab omelette.

Thank Chris T

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
