With a rating of #1 in places to eat in New Orleans, we had to try it! From the FQ, we rode the Canal St-City Park streetcar, got off at Carrollton (just before the streetcar turns right), and walked one block. Inside, there were several small tables, and displays of pre-packaged goodies. We ordered pastries and espresso drinks which were... More

I enjoyed gelato and a fresh mini cannoli while in the restaurant. It was very good. The service was excellent. And I took some cookies home for my family that do not have to be refrigerated so they should make the airplane trip easily. I also brought some tiramisu back to the hotel for breakfast in the morning. I have... More

My wife and I live in Portland, Oregon, but we both grew up in New Orleans. As you might guess, we go back to New Orleans frequently to visit family and friends and just to enjoy being there. When we're in New Orleans, we pretty much always plan to visit Angelo Brocato Ice Cream at least once (usually after lunch... More

Second trip to New Orleans wasn't complete until I went back to Angelo Brocato and ordered the stratcciatella. It was just as good as I remembered. Incredible! Go there. The staff are friendly too.

Brocato's is legendary in New Orleans! After having dinner down the street, we had decided that we would have dessert at Brocato's. A terrific idea!! The staff was friendly, and it was late and very busy, our cannoli were filled and finished upon ordering, coffees were delicious, and, we visited with the staff, as we were the last in and,... Great local favorite, its not Italy but its close! A bit out of the wayy from the normal tourist spots but worth it if you have a car. Close to City Park and a great dessert spot. Amazon gelato and pastries.

I haven't seen such a fine display of Italian sweet treats and desserts since our last trip to San Francisco. If you can't find something here to delight your taste buds, I feel sorry for you. The line was out the door when we arrived at 9:30 PM, but it moved quickly. It was a Friday night, so I imagine... More

This is a probably third or fourth generation owned small Italian Ice and Gelato shop in the mid-city area of New Orleans. The ice creams and gelato's are excellent. They also sell Italian cookies and pastries. A must stop place for anyone longing for an Italian treat while visiting New Orleans!
