Many friends of ours mentioned Shaya as a must visit restaurant in NOLA. Now my wife is not only a foodie but a proud Israeli with humus in her veins. And we completely loved this place!!! Great atmosphere, fantastic staff and really great food. We...felt like Israel married New Orleans. Definitely a place to visit on our next trip to the Big Easy.More

After visiting Isreal I love Israeli food, which is unlike anything I ate growing up. After seeing the restaurant on “Somebody Feel Phill” I knew I wanted to go. Pros: The food. Everything from the cocktails to the babka desert was phenomenal. How delicious lamb...could be on hummus blew my mind. The way the Aleppo pepper elevated the Labne, astonishing. Cons: Service. I always look at menus and research reviews before going someplace special, and don’t often require the assistance of the waiter to order. I was overwhelmed with the menu, literally wanting to order 90% of it. As a solo and first time diner, I needed the assistance of my server to order an appropriate amount of food, also sharing with him that I knew I wanted desert. For one person, he let me order enough for at least 2. When the desert did come, I was legitimately so full, that I did not fully enjoy the babka which I was waiting for and felt uncomfortable for the rest of the night.More

I met a friend at this restaurant, because she said it was a not-to-miss establishment on Magazine Street. And she was right!! The fried chicken hummus was to die for, the labneh rich and tangy, and the pita bread. THE PITA BREAD!! They are just...making it fresh continuously. You can actually go and see the oven with the person hand patting these little discs of dough that will soon turn into fluffy fragrant pillows of goodness. Highly Recommend!!More

Amazing food!! Excellent service. The bartender was so friendly and helped us plan out more places to see and dine in NOLA. The food was the best. The Fried Chicken hummus is a must have. Even gluten free. Cocktails so yummy.

The Chicken Hummus could be a meal onto itself and that is all I would need to be in heaven. Except that everything else we had was so delicious! The Lamb and the Brisket were so tender that they melted in our mouths. The pita...bread was soft, warm, and fresh. We ended with a cinnamon babka that was to die for. I rolled out of the restaurant and look forward to rolling back in one day!More

We always dine here when we visit New Orleans. This is a not to be missed treat. The pita alone is worth the visit. We love sitting in the outside courtyard. The courtyard further in the back does have a door that is used frequently...by the staff and they kept leaving it open to a parking lot. It was cold that night and it became colder each time the door was left open. I would suggest sitting in the first courtyard as you leave the restaurant. Maybe the staff will make changes to this situation based on this review. However, that did not ruin our night by any means. We had a wonderful person wait on us. She was helpful but not pushy. We had a delicious, leisurely meal and felt completely safe. We love this restaurant. The fried chicken hummus and the roasted cauliflower are two of our favorite dishes. You won't go wrong dining at Shaya.More

Absolutely amazing. The pita bread is so fresh; it literally is taken out of the oven and brought to tables within seconds. Best I’ve ever had. We ordered a variety of proteins and finished with the Warm Cinnamon Babka for dessert. WOW.

Flavor was 100% there. Shaya has fabulous Mediterranean food. Highly recommended to diversify from all the Cajun food!

Amazing food! Very fresh and delicious! Hummus was very creamy, baba ganush was wonderful, their lamb kabab was outstanding, and the Pita - i cannot rave enough about it. Do yourself a favor and if you love Israeli food, come here any time you are...in New Orleans.More

Worth the trip to Magazine St. Party of six for lunch and boy was the food good. Everything we ordered was world class. Staff were super accommodating and noticed I brought Parmesan crisps as I am diabetic. Provided me with mixed vegetables in lieu of...their famous pita. Exceptional food with exceptional service. If you are a foodie this is a must visit.More
