ordered the eggs, catfish and grits. friend ordered french toast stuffed with coconut, etc. french toast was so sweet, more like dessert than breakfast. My eggs were a little over cooked w/cheese fish was crispy and tender, ordered side of toast, took one bite, left it...there....biscuit, no comment....grits were creamy and good, but lacked seasoning. service was excellent. waitor was sweet and kept the ice water flowing. It was 95 outside and no seating inside. sat outside at 10:30am and roasted...ate quick and got out of there....More

We had the pancakes and the crepes. Both were excellent. Not fancy, but prime location on Decatur and excellent food and service.

We were in NOLA for three mornings and ate breakfast at three different highly recommended restaurants. This was far and away our favorite! SO good.

I read the reviews so this was our first stop off the plane. We went to French Quarter, Decatur St. Eggs (omelets) smelled and tasted microwaved, cheese like plastic. The fruit immature and hard. The skillet potatoes over seasoned and warmed over travesties. The toast?...Little lard pools, and like the potatoes, just warmed over. For those who like fresh, made to order in the kitchen food, you will be disappointed. This was a big letdown, based on our expectations from other reviews. Big thumbs down.More

We set out to get breakfast and came upon Toast not far from our hotel. The food was excellent. The puffed pancakes are a must try. Different but good.

Really enjoyed Toast. Using the Virtual Queue can get Brunch here and also explore the city. The French Toast (We got the one with pineapple) and the Ratouille Omelet (amazing). The pancake balls (we thought we would love ) were just Ok. Enjoyed the service...and innovative food.More

Served a good breakfast, but nothing special. Probably would not recommend you go this far if staying in the quarter. Would be a good neighborhood choice.

Toast is just a wealth of information. It's amazing to me how an individual can teach and entertain so effectively! The splendid homes and architecture of this beautiful district in New Orleans was explained with intelligence..as well as enthusiasm and humor. It's clear Toast enjoyed...sharing his knowledge of the history of New Orleans,as we enjoyed listening to him describe this beautiful district in detail. Every question answered with added information. He seemed to enjoy us as well, and we are baby boomers. I love to read, and one of the best ways to acquire knowledge is through reading and studying. Toast has clearly done his homework concerning this diverse and vibrant city. His Mom should be proud!More

The food was very good and so was the service. The portions were very large. We ate there two mornings and could not finish all on our plate. The service was attentive and professional. In spite of the fact that the tables were clean both days,...they were tacky to the touch; not sure why but it was a little off-putting. I would definitely return!More

I would not ever recommend eating here. Everything is dirty and the servers are terrible. Well mine was not all of them. I dont recall her name but I feeling rushed and she was snappy.

We dined here on our last morning in NOLA. It was a quick decision to eat here influenced mainly by its location. The food was generously portioned but just average. The dining room is very small and they keep the silverware on the table which...seemed counterproductive to containing germs. I found the wait staff to be a bit rude as the waitress refused to acknowledge us without our masks on - even while we were sitting at the table drinking coffee, which is completely ridiculous. I ordered toast with my breakfast, which never came even after several requests - ironic, since this place is actually called...Toast - you would think they would be able to prepare the toast quickly. We would dine here again if we were in a pinch for time, but otherwise would look elsewhere.More

This is a place known for it's good food and casual atmosphere. I ordered the Monte Cristo with Lyonnaise potatoes, and my husband ordered the Hangar steak with tarragon aioli and potatoes. We also had coffee and split an order of aebleskivers (like pancake donuts...but...better). Everything was wonderful and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting New Orleans.More
