Very disappointed to be turned away today from Toast Gretna. I’m a regular customer at both Gretna and Gentilly. Went to Gentilly on Lundy Gras and left due to a long wait - my decision as I have limited time for lunch. Today, Ash Wednesday,...was turned away from the Gretna location as they were running out of things due to the Mardi Gras lunch rush. There were open tables … I love this restaurant at both locations and will eventually be back - two strikes on one week!More

Toast has a very intriguing menu! While we did not expect to be eating aebelskivers in New Orleans, we are so happy we did. We had them with lemon curd which was delicious. We split an order of 7 of these golf ball size puff...pastries. They were light and fluffy and fabulous. We also split an omelette made with ratatouille, spinach and goat cheese. Delicious! Sides included toast, bacon and lyonnaise potatoes. Again delicious. We are in town a few more days and plan to come back to try some more of the terrific looking menu items.More

We had the salmon toast and the chicken and waffles both were tasty. The waitress was attentive, making sure the coffee was filled and that we were fine. I would come back again.

A neighborhood breakfast spot off the French quarter, but well worth seeking out. Every item ordered, especially the crepes, were unique and delicious. The bloody mary had a daily portion of vegetables!

We’ve eaten here three times and they’ve all been excellent, plenty of choice on the menu and when the food arrives it is great quality and very tasty. Really good place to visit.

I ordered the alligator avocado toast and it was abysmal. I ate 1 bite of 1 of the overcooked (as in hard) poached eggs and they were overcooked. I had 3 bits of alligator which was also overcooked and inedible. And two bits of the...avocado toast. When I complained they only charged me 50! It should have been comped. I have included pictures of the receipt and the leftovers which I did not tske with me, The mimosa was goodMore

Had breakfast here on several occasions during our week long stay in Louisiana, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, kept my morning brew topped up, that’s a real bonus for me! We tried a few different items on the menu apparently the french toast...is super popular, I personally didn’t enjoy it but I was expecting the traditional style which I am used to, bread dipped in eggs then fried, they prepare it differently, just a matter of preference, but I did have the chicken and waffles chicken 🍗 🧇 several times, it’s fantastic! I would travel there again for this breakfast alone, served with a side of cayenne butter and maple syrup, its delish and I would definitely recommend giving it a try!More

Slow, poor service; this place is way overrated & the food is overcooked. The kitchen is filthy, chefs don't wear a uniform.

Went for breakfast 10am. Waited in line outside (in the bitter cold/you can’t reserve!) was told it would be half hour wait, 40 minutes later, and with other couples being called in long before us, who had arrived after us, I went in and asked...if we would be next, I was advised yes…a further 15 minutes passed before we were called in. No apologies at any point, unimpressed! The most important thing, the food and drink. Coffee bland and bang average. The food slightly above average, but only slightly. Had better of both, coupled with better customer service. Would I recommend? No! Would I eat here again? If no queue and out of other options, possibly.More

We ate here today and food was OK but service appalling and rude. Owning a hospitality business ourselves we tip generously for good service and feel this is important but our server was rude. She got one of our orders wrong and the rest of...us had finished our meal by the time the missing meal arrived. Everyone makes mistakes but there was no sorry when it was eventually placed very quickly on our table with an 'everything OK? We had waited at least 20mins for the missing meal to arrive. She brought the bill expecting a large tip and chased us up the street as she couldn't be bothered to explain that she required the signed copy of the receipt and said usually people leave a tip whilst we stood on the street. We we usually do but not when we are treated with such disdain. Yes it was busy and yes her t-shirt was filthy but there is no excuse for such rude service. Our first experience in New Orleans where we had high expectations. Hoping we have a better experience elsewhere where we receive much more respect and where for sure we will leave a tip.More
