My husband and I were just guest at Hotel Provicial on 25 Sep thru 28 Sep. Our last morning there we had breakfast at the "French Toast" restaurant. The waitress we had was very rude and kept insisting that while we were seated at out...table, according to the New Orleans guidelines that we had to put our mask back on for her to take our order. We questioned this, due to during our whole stay no other restaurant required mask while we were seated. She wouldn't refill our coffee without our mask being on, so every time we wanted more coffee she would say you don't have your mask on. So please be advised that as of September 25th, 2020. Customers DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE MASK ON WHILE SEATED. Once again the waitress was very rude. The food was good, but the waitress left a very bad taste. NEW ORLEANS REOPENING Experience New Orleans Last Updated: Friday, September 25, 2020 4:24 PM Do I Need to Wear a Mask at All Times?  As part of both the state- and citywide mask mandate, it is required that individuals wear a mask or face covering at all times while in public, unless you are exercising or seated at a table in a restaurant. This rule does not apply to children under two years old and anyone who has trouble breathing. While this will not be enforced by police, a business does have the right to refuse service for patrons not adhering to this rule.More

Small place but really good food. We were here for brunch on a weekday morning...they're open from 6:30 to 2:00 weekdays and open at 8:00 weekends. Very interesting menu items...omelets and crepes...with other good stuff. We both got an omelet...they were perfectly done. They have...lots of variety and seating indoor and outdoor on a covered sidewalk. We will be going backMore

We went here twice for breakfast. Their French toast is the best I have ever tasted. Portions are huge as well! Loved it and would definitely go back here

"Toast" is a wonderful, out-of-the-way spot for breakfast or brunch. Everything is homemade (I think) and wonderful. It is at 5433 Laurel. Toast is small so expect a wait. We were a party of 6 and there were only two tables that would accommodate us,...so we had to wait a little while. Well worth the wait. Our table shared the aebleskivers and lemon curd. Fun and delicious. They serve omelettes, crepes (sweet and savory), toast with choice of several toppings and a number of other entrees. I ordered the mushroom, spinach, onion peppers & goat cheese savory crepe ($10) and it was fabulous!! It was large enough to bring half of it home. I am ready to go back.More

twice to eat and once to get out of the rain... A small but mighty food joint. Everything was fresh and super tasty. I had the French toast and my family all tried different delicacies... The coffee was amazing. One of our stand out places......and super reasonable prices compared to the quality...More

Excellent! Properly made chicken & waffles with cajun butter to cover it all. Chicken was perfectly cooked tender and waffles added to the sweet side. Crepes did not disappoint and a hard choice to pass up, so we got both! The hot chocolate was more...like melted golden chocolate prepared by Wonka himself.More

This is the best breakfast I’ve ever had. My husband and I ate here twice while on vacation. I do recommend checking in online to help decrease your wait time.

By far the best breakfast I had on my trip. The French toast with berries was to die for and the Irish coffee put a spring in our step. The staff was the best part, we laughed and enjoyed every minute of our time here.

We ate here a few times this week, everything we ate was top of the the line. Simple foods made with top quality product and knowledge. A simple bec biscuit here is what your body wishes it was everywhere. My quiche was best I’ve had....Place is super small so I could see people having to wait but we got in quick and were served quick. Thanks can’t wait to come backMore
