We ate here last year and it was memorably miserable. We got there around nine, there were three of us. We were seated. It took twenty minutes for someone to take our drink order. All the employees were on their phones crowded around the courtyard bathrooms. When the food came, (sandwiches) the bread was soggy, the fish was cold. My... More

A group of us went to dinner here and were seated in a really loud noisy room in the middle of the building. The waitress came up to us, greeted us with waters and asked if we wanted any drinks from the bar. After she carded us, she told each of us EXACTLY what we were going to order from... More

While walking down the street with our 9 month old twins the hostess said "we're kid friendly!" So we decided to swing on in and grab dinner. She was right, they were so nice and accommodating to us! Our service was excellent and even better the food was delicious! We've been coming to New Orleans for about 10 years and... More

Stopped in by just walking by. Best food thus far. Went to Mothers, Nola and this one wins hands down. You won't be disappointed. Service was top notch and suggestions were plenty The boudin is a first for me and it was great. Wish we would have found it on the first day rather than the last. Thanks for a... More

Just happened upon the restaurant and we were seated immediately. Good food. Cold beer. Attentive waiter. I'm glad we wandered in! Would suggest it to anyone who asks :)

The hubby and I had spent much of the afternoon at the Carousel bar and needed to go take a little siesta. Well, it turned into falling asleep. We woke up at 9ish and realized that we missed our dinner reservations.. Such is life. So we dressed and went on a walk in the Quarter to find somewhere for dinner.... More

When in New Orleans we often finish our evening with a drink at the Chartres House bar. Excellent bartenders, generous drinks and a relaxing atmosphere. The bartender Sunday even brought extra ice for my martini on the rocks when she noticed I was running low.

We were placed in a side room I think because our party had 6 people and the main room had smaller tables. There was a tv going, cry I g and screaming child, and music blaring. When asked for a change the management did turn tv sound off and turned down the music. Eventually the screaming child left. Our waitress... More

Great martini at the bar while waiting for table! Food was ok. Took a VERY long time to receive our food once ordered.

Sitting on the corner of two busy streets, a bar atmosphere and definitely a people watching spot. The service was good. A reminder to the northerners, eating is an event in the south, you are there to enjoy the food, drink, music, and the people. We started with crab cakes and crawfish etouffee. Excellent! Roast beef poboy and blackened chicken... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
