Just two blocks from Le Pavillion hotel, need to make reservations. Chef creates so many great meals. Service is excellent, great drink and wine list!

We came here the first night we got to New Orleans. The restaurant is very nice and the ambiance is pretty laid back. This is more like a fine dining restaurant. The shrimp and grits was amazing. The grits was cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth. Our server had a little attitude because our table was taking too... More

Visiting Lüke has become a tradition whenever my daughter visits me in New Orleans. It is on her must-reserve list. I go there to enjoy the classic French and local dishes. Wonderful brunch and terrific "happy hour". The food is consistently excellent and the service is very attentive. One of the classics here in NOLA.

Luke is a John Besh restaurant, so the service is on point. Dishes are made of finest quality ingredients, well put together, and well finished. That said, there is nothing earth shattering or terribly innovative. The restaurant is a little loud. Working in a hotel space makes for a disjointed flow in tables and rooms. That is what they were... More

Amazing food, had the Shrimp and Grits and added crab. Probably the best meal I had all week in New Orleans. Service was good, I would definitely eat here again.

Thanks to DeDe and her staff, especially Chris our waiter the four of us enjoyed a well prepared New Orleans dinner at this well known establishment. I had the E'touffe which was almost Gnocchi like, excellent! We also enjoyed the grilled steak and the mussels in a white wine butter sauce. Be sure to leave room for the cobbler and... More

We got there in time for happy hour and had oysters and cocktails before ordering dinner. We were meeting for dinner with some friends that are local to New Orleans, so we knew it wasn't just a place for tourists. Not only was the food very good, but the building was an interesting setting for a restaurant.

Put another notch in your belt as this place does not want you to go away feeling light on your feet. Great Creole-centric dishes, done with a little extra panache. Wait staff really knew the menu and how to gauge us -- we're convivial and cracking a few jokes, so he and his compadres kept it coming right back at... More

I had brunch there on a Sunday in July. It was not too crowded at about 10am and I was very pleased with the food. So many delicious options to choose from! I opted for the fried chicken biscuit with honey, and it was ridiculously good. To make myself feel slightly better about my main choice, I started with the... More

Not certain if they have changed formats but we thought this was a $$ restaurant from Yelp and the reviews, but it is much more in the $$$ range. Good menu, good food and good service. It just wasn't what we thought we were going there for. Even the online menu was nothing like what we got on the dinner... More

Description
Luke New Orleans is Besh's homage to the grand old Franco-German brasseries that once reigned in New Orleans. Luke offers an extensive French, German, and Belgian beer selection, including three exclusive house brews [custom-made in Louisiana]. The cuisine is unaffectedly Old World, using slow and traditional cooking techniques. The wine list features reds and whites from the Loire, Alsace, and Savoie regions, as well as Badischerwiens of Germany. Since opening in 2007, Luke has been hailed by Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and The Times-Picayune Lagniappe, which awarded Luke an impressive three bean-ranking for its "disarmingly home-spun culinary touches and broad-shouldered dishes that satisfy something more than just an appetit."

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
