Deja Vu had the sort of dive bar atmosphere that we had been led to expect from the reviews we read. Our waiter seemed inexperienced, but was friendly and put forth a good effort. Prices looked quite reasonable on the menu. No issues so far. Then the meals came and it was disappointing. We had breakfast type items and each... More

It was the first place we entered to have a beer, by the way, ask for local: Amber Beer - it's a nice choice! Another tip is to ask for a po-boy, we had the pulled pork and it was really tasty! The place is open 24/7.

Handy location from our hotel, Prince Conti, for a quick bite, especially breakfast. French Toast and breakfast sandwich were very good. Very reasonably priced. At first, I was hesitant to go in as it looked a little too rough around the edges but once you realized that it was more a diner dive, and not a grill, it was fine.... More

This is a hole in the wall place if I ever saw one. My adult son found it online, and suggested we go there for breakfast. It's pretty much a diner-style menu, but the décor is dive bar / hard rock. It isn't a quiet place, and I bet it's really loud at night. The wait staff was very nice... More

Super friendly bartenders and great inexpensive food. Cannot ask for much more. Happy hour from 4-6 is half off all drinks.

This was our first breakfast in New Orleans after landing and it was pretty good. I just got the DeJavu breakfast sandwich with ham but it was good. The 8:00a.m. perfectly spiked Irish coffee though...! That, was amazing. Perfectly done for 2 tourists first thing in the morning.

This place is off the stupidity that is Bourbon street. Open 24 hours, it is a last resort for food on your way back to a hotel. However, for a last resort, the food is very damn good and reasonably priced. Actually a good laid back locals' bar too. Recommended.

Very good Cajun omelette! Very nice 24 hr hole in the wall. My kind of place. My lady and I enjoyed Deja Vu. We are going to fit in a late night burger!

It's a local hole in the wall, in the BEST possible way. Wish I could remember the bartender's name, as she was awesome. We jammed the jukebox with her and she got us up on 'locals' hangs. I did the seafood gumbo, gator balls, meat pies and Kat got he potato soup. Everything was just great! BONUS: It says NO... More

We had a late arrival into New Orleans after missing our connecting flight in Atlanta. It was about 1 am by the time we got to look for something to eat and Deja Vu is open 24 hours! Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable! I had the Gator Balz which were very good, but there were only 5 in... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
