I was at a private party upstairs where my husband and I didn't share the host's taste in libation. So I made a few trips down to the main bar to get drinks for us. Will, the delightful bartender, was more than happy to open a tab for me. Amici has a great selection of beers, and I had my... More

Our salads were delicious, large and tasty. Shrimp and mussels were bland over pasta. No parmesean cheese was available? Order didn't come in that week.......so go to Costco and buy some!!!!! Pizza looked delicious and we should have ordered that.

Pizza is a very personal and subjective review. That being said, this was definitely not my favorite pizza ever. The one I ordered was just okay and I also sensed it may have been an off day. I would, however, give it another try based on nice menu selection, ambience and the service I received was very attentive. They have... More

So, 2 years ago I wrote a lukewarm review about waiting 30 minutes for drinks at the table.... Well, they have totally turned this place around. It is now my "Saturday Dinner Place to Go". I ate at the bar last Saturday and Joe the bartender knows what I like and Whitney recommended the grilled leg of lamb. The last... More

We wandered upon this place while looking for something to eat after a Garden District stroll. It was happy hour...perfect timing! We got 1/2 price coal fired pizzas (14 inch pies are normally around $18-$20) which were very good, and 1/2 price beers (we ordered only local brews). Indoor and outdoor seating. The menu had a lot of other Italian... More

I asked for a table at the side of the restaurant and was told they were closed down for the evening. For a restaurant that claims to sell 50 beers, there were no prices on the menu and the waiter did not know either. The half chicken turned out to be a drumstick and 3 thighs. The pizzas were nice... We went here on a recommendation of a friend. It was hands down the best Italian restaurant in New Orleans. The food was great and the wine list very good. Everyone enjoyed their meal and shared taste. It was all awesome. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Great for a group of just a couple.

We visited on a Sunday night and had a pleasant enough dinner. I wouldn't describe it as excellent Italian food. It was good. It was filling. The pizzas in particular were good. The interior is open and roomy.

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
