Weather wasn't warm enough to sit in pretty courtyard so we ate in the absolutely lovely carriage house - great atmosphere, brick walls, comfy arm chairs, terrific server's personality and bartender, fantastic food - and the best bread I had on the trip (I'm a...More

I made an online reservation through their website link with Open Table. But they never got it. Fortunately, we arrived for an after 8 pm dinner and the garden tables were starting to vacate, so we got a lovely table in the garden. Drinks were...More

I had visited this little restaurant in the French Quarter a year ago and I enjoyed it very much! Unfortunately, the quality of the food and service have declined considerably! They forgot about us at the bar while waiting for a table, the food was...More

The courtyard was lovely. If you do not care about the rest, it is a nice place to spend some time. The food is ok, but I expected it to be better considering the prices. The service was disappointing. Our server was nice, but seemed...More

A true hidden gem .... Fortunately we were guided and told about Amelie's and stopped by for dinner. We arrived without making a reservation and ended up having to wait for a table. Well it certainly was worth more than the wait. Excellent food, topped...More

We had dined here for lunch a few years ago and enjoyed it so much that we returned on this visit. Once again we ate in the outdoor patio. The food, service, and setting were perfect for another delightful lunch. We will have to return.

One of my goals during our trip to the French Quarter was to have a nice lunch in a courtyard setting. I read good reviews of this place and made a reservation for a late lunch. We arrived and were quickly seated in the courtyard....More

I've visited this place three times now, and come away more impressed each time. Our dinner last night was excellent; we had several of the specials, and they were deserving of the name. The tomato bisque with shrimp, especially, was out of this world. Great...More

We arrived a bit early (abt half an hour early) and were greeted kindly and sat immediately outside (as requested). The intimate outdoor courtyard is great, with the interior being a little more lively. The chef is visible in the kitchen on the second floor....More

Cannot recommend this place enough. Food was outstanding, service even better. Beautiful courtyard dining. Place to sit inside as well. Outstanding!

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty
Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port
of call for folks in search of a good time and a great
story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs
across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied
around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the

Hello. No, there is no dress code. It's very casual, but you could certainly dress up if you wanted. You wouldn't be out of place either way, casual or dressy. It is just so one of those: 'just relax and be you and do what... More

Description
Please note that the courtyard is seated on a first come, first serve basis. A reservation does not guarantee seating in the courtyard but we will have a table available inside our beautiful, historic carriage house. We normally allow reservation space for only 50% of the dining room to accommodate walk-ins. Additionally, in order to accommodate all of our guests who are waiting to be seated, we are only able to seat your party once everyone has arrived. Nestled in the historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter, Cafe Amelie is a rare combination of superb Louisiana fare served in a lush, enchanting New Orleans courtyard setting. Cafe Amelie has a full bar offering an array of signature cocktail creations. Cafe Amelie and the accompanying Princess of Monaco Courtyard are also available for private parties, weddings and receptions.
