Been here twice and food was not good at all either times. Crawfish way over cooked and corn/potatoes/sausage not great flavor. Do not recommend

Traveling alone for business and wanted a dining experience outside the tourist trap areas. The French Market Restaurant was definitely worth the extra walk.

Came in from the smell of crab boil...so glad we did!! Oysters, of course, boat of boiled crab, red beans and rice, and of course a cheeseburger for the weirdo who came to New Orleans but can’t eat spices...all were fantastic!!!! Also, BEST pecan pie...I’ve had. WOW!! Melanie was a delightful waitress, friendly and attentive. Wonderful person and exceptional waitress. Thank you!More

When we originally walked in we were so excited. We arrived at approximately 5:40 pm. There was hardly a line but the place was packed. Everything smelled heavenly. We got seated on the balcony and it was so lovely. Our waiter was very personable and...kind. He gave us great suggestions that we were excited to try. Our drinks came fairly quickly. As 6:15 came we had not received our chargrilled oysters. When they arrived soon after they were barely warm. We were then told at around 6:30 that our order had been “lost in the shuffle” and the manager was on it. I told our waiter we had a reservation at 7:00. At 6:50 my husband had received his food. I had not. I left to go meet our tour group and let them know my husband was on the way. My husband stayed another 25 minutes to argue about getting my meal taken off and to pay the bill. There were other customers seated around us with similar problems. So. Disappointing.More

This was our first stop in NoLa for the day and we waited probably 30 minutes or so in line at 2pm but were rewarded with spectacular seats on the balcony with a gorgeous view of the French Quarter below. Our server was friendly and...service was quick. The food was fairly average in my opinion. Nothing to write home about but it was still pretty good. We had the jambalaya and gumbo. The jambalaya lacked a little of the flavor I expected from New Orleans. I had a good experience but probably wouldn’t go back.More

None of the staff wear masks properly. They all favor the chin diaper approach. There is no social distancing among guests as all the tables are full and packed close together. There's a long line of people at most times, so there is a constant...stream of people going in and out, not helping the situation. The whole place just seemed dark, damp, and dirty. Food was good, but not noteworthy. This is one of the only places we could easily find boiled crawfish that you could peel and eat. This is what most guests come here to eat. In early April, a boat was $25 and a half was $13. A boat is enough for one person, if that's all they are eating. Or enough for two if you share something else, like a seafood platter. We ordered a half boat, and they brought us a full boat. I think everyone orders full boats, so if you order a half you'll probably get a full for the price of a half. The other seafood we got: shrimp, fried oysters, and white fish. It was all good, but again, not noteworthy. Just about everywhere else in NoLa does it as well for the same price. I likely wouldn't recommend visiting except for specifically getting crawfish.More

We waited at the door to be seated for quite a while. Once seated we ordered drinks and garlic & herb chargrilled oysters. They were pretty good. We had the combo boiling pot with shrimp, crab and crawfish with potatoes, corn and sausage and our...2 sons had crab. The shrimp were hard to peel (shells stuck to the meat), the crawfish were hard to peel as well, were small and had little flavor, the crab were just ok, but some of the body meat was kind of grayish in color and had a funky smell. The potatoes were over cooked, but the corn and sausage were good. Overall, would not recommend the boiled seafood, and probably wouldn’t go back.More

The restaurant was down the street from our hotel. They recommended the grilled oysters. We had never eaten oysters, these were delicious. My husband ordered a hamburger and said it was one of the best he had ever had. I ordered the Cajun Creole. It...was really good, had a lot of shrimp. Did not disappoint. Would visit again.More

The service was amazing and the experience was just as we expected, never had oysters before and it was phenomenal. The Old Fashioned boil in its original state was mesmerizing brought the charm and feel of what New Orleans is known for.

Amazing food and wonderful service. Our server Kristi was so wonderful, we went back the next day. We had Angelo as our server the second night and he was wonderful too! They were practicing Covid cleanliness. I had shrimp that was amazing and my friend...had Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice. The Fried Green Tomatoes in Roulmonde sauce was incredible!More

We do not. The law in New Orleans requires you to be 25 feet or more from a door to smoke. Our balcony is big but not that big.
