Great place to take a break and enjoy a cocktail and a bite to eat. I love to people watch and sat at a great table to enjoy a drink and a poor boy. After looking at the menu we decide on the red fish which was really good, blackened and really tasty. The service was good and the drinks... More

Arrived here late and the restaurant was not that busy. Had to call over a waitress. Got the Chicke Gumbo soup right away which was so excellent that I wished I had ordered the full size bowl. Then the wait began for the blackened Red Fish that the waitress had recommended. After about 25 minutes with no visit by my... More

At a loss one rainy lunchtime in June we took cover in this restaurant! We were told not to eat on Bourbon Street but hey... Ended up eating a Seafood Combo & a steak along with desserts of a bread pudding & a cheesecake. Ohhh... and a few cocktails too! It was all very nice - minor compalint that the... More

Eating at Seaport Cafe & Bar on Burbon Street was the worst, worst dining experience I ever had. They really don't care if you will come back at all as they get the tourist customers anyway because of its location. Please try to avoid this despicable restaurant as much as possible.

If you enjoy eating I would recommend the Seaport restaurant on Bourbon Street. All 6 of us had delicious dinners and the atmosphere is comfortable. The staff is very frinedly too. Several of us enjoyed "muffelatta" sandwiches there. Another fine place to eat was the French Quarter Bistro. Again all the meals were great. I enjoyed my seafood Po-boy. This... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
