The first two times we went to La Boulangerie on Magazine were wonderful. This third time we had horrible service, and we hope it was just a fluke. My daughter ordered the sausage kolache and they said they would warm it and bring it out to us. After 10 minutes we inquired, and the girl behind the counter just picked... More

Was in the area so we stopped to get a bite to eat. Visually spectacular, we ordered a Blue Cheese Loaf, Ham and Cheese Croissant, and a Le Parisienne Sandwich (Butcher ham, salted butter, Comte cheese corniche soon baguette). It was all so good that on the following morning our last in NO, we went back there for breakfast and... More

Love this spot to grab a coffee and a pastry! My absolute favorite is the blue cheese loaf, but the almond croissant is a close second. And during Mardi Gras, I always have to pick up their French King Cake - it's the best!

Magazine Street has become a must-go-to street in New Orleans! The boutiques and shops and over-all feel makes it a great street to walk around. It's not too far from the Garden District. If you live in the area, la Boulangerie must be your morning gem! I would be visiting every morning!! But alas, I visited as a tourist. Was... More

Delicious!!! The closest you can get to France with these pastries. We shared a sandwich and then a pastry each. Oh my goodness - the carrot cake is like nothing we had ever tasted. Out of this world. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly (Cordelia is a gem and a huge asset to this establishment). Well worth the 1.2... More

IF YOU like a good cup of cafe au last and a crispy croissant or amazing almond croissant, go! Great bread selections and pastry too! While off to a slow start with the new ownership all is good again! Sure do miss my apricot danish though! Very French!

A wide selection of pastries from the very sweet to savory, almond croissant to ham and cheese croissant and a selection of quiches. The Cafe Au Lait and the americano were both excellent fuel to get us going for the day. It is out of the way but there is street parking available for free.

This is my third review of the same location, because of profound changes that have occurred. La Boulangerie was originally founded by an actually French chef, tapped hundreds of years of French baking tradition, and was easily the best pastry in New Orleans, frequently winning "Best of New Orleans" awards, and highly ranked among locals and by Zagat and TripAdvisor,... Great pastries. Parking is a pain. You may have to find parking a few blocks away and walk. Some nice boutique stores nearby, so it's worth it. Parking is metered at most spots. Pastries are pretty price, though, so not necessarily the best stop for a large family if you're on a budget.

We went to this bakery to celebrate my partner birthdays on March 26th. As always, full of people. We got a table and the waitress attended us promptly. My partner asked for eggs florentine, she said were awesome ,the other one an omelette and me, scrambled eggs. All of us drinks latte. Mine decaff and was excellent. Definitely we will... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
