I went in specifically for the chocolate crossiant. I was dissappointed with the texture of the pastry. It seemed to be much too dense and didn't mesh well with the heavy chocolate. What saved was the blueberry tart. It was so delicious. Also, the quiche loved and smelled devine. I will give the bakery another try when I'm back down.

They have a great selection of pastries, quiches and other savory items!! Nice area, easy to get to and near shopping. Seating inside and out. Would definitely go again to this bakery.

A lovely end to a delicious weekend in NOLA. It was delightful to find this French bakery in our neighborhood. The croissants, staff, and iced coffee were excellent! We were happy to be able to enjoy our breakfasts outside on cafe tables. I brought a loaf of sourdough boule home as well! We'll be back.

Get there when they open as they have everything out and you will not have to wait if they are out of something. Try the Olive Loaf French bread. The staff will be more than happy to get you what they are out of but sometimes you have to wait 10 to 15 minutes. Hands Down the best bakery in... More

We wanted to find a bakery as close to a French bakery as possible and this is it. Went with kids for a late breakfast on a Saturday around 11:15 and we're able to find able table right away. They do not have a lot of seating but you can order everything to go. We had a little bit of... More

This place is New Orleans' best French bakery. The croissants and breads are excellent with plenty of exceptionally decadent options as well. While the recent ownership change has been controversial, I still find the place to have great pastries and baked goods.

The first two times we went to La Boulangerie on Magazine were wonderful. This third time we had horrible service, and we hope it was just a fluke. My daughter ordered the sausage kolache and they said they would warm it and bring it out to us. After 10 minutes we inquired, and the girl behind the counter just picked... More

Was in the area so we stopped to get a bite to eat. Visually spectacular, we ordered a Blue Cheese Loaf, Ham and Cheese Croissant, and a Le Parisienne Sandwich (Butcher ham, salted butter, Comte cheese corniche soon baguette). It was all so good that on the following morning our last in NO, we went back there for breakfast and... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
