Ate dinner here during French Quarter Fest. We were seated promptly even though we did not have reservations. The food was excellent. Our server, however, was somewhat slow in attending to us (and the restaurant was not slammed busy at the time). I expected more attentive service from a restaurant like this. However, the food was so good that I... More

This was a wonderful meal. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. The meal, the service the ambiance was all just perfect. Unpretentious, casual, yet elegant, the coctails, food presentation, everything was what you should expect from an upscale dining experience. Could not have been better!

My partner and I ate here last weekend and, overall, were very disappointed. The mostly empty restaurant on a Friday night raised some suspicion as soon as we walked in the door. The service was practically non-existent. For both our appetizer and main course settings, the serving position was incorrect. I mentioned this during the appetizer setting; one would think... More

This was a lovely meal. Starting off with a great arugula salad, and then proceeding to a splendid and savory vegetable lasagna. And a gorgeous chocolate souffle for dessert. The service was pleasant and professional --- the ambiance was pleasant, and the restaurant was easy to get to. The owner or manager came over to greet us and the server... More

Dinner at Iris is always fantastic. Eric is a great front of the house guy who really knows the food and pairs excellent coctails and wines. I definitely defer to him on his knowledge of the bar. The food is always amazing at Iris.

Iris is truly a beautiful flower hidden in the garden of Eden. This upscale restaurant makes the casual diner feel comfortable. Fridays offer a lunch special of a finely prepared appetizer, lunch and dessert for $20. The place is lovely to look at and even more enjoyable to relax in. The owners will personally greet you, the wait staff is... More

Didn't feel especially welcome. The place isn't very nice. The lighting had to be adjusted. The service was amateur and a little sleazy. The menu is right out of the 1990s. The food lacked sparkle. The wine was a very good recommendation. Everyone on staff might have been really tired after Carnival, Superbowl, and Valentine's Day. The place was mostly... More

Was a great experience. Eric, the owner, personally greeted us. Scott and Cory, the bar tenders, were attentive. It's an upscale restaurant with a comfortable feel. In two days I visited three times! A must do

Go see the bartender, he is amazing, if you appreciate a good cocktail! The food and service were on point. One of the best fine dining restaurants in NOLA.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
