Walked about 1/2 mile from Canal Street to this Decatur Street legend. It was early evening but already busy with dinner people 'cooped up' inside. My party of one had a choice of sitting and eating at the bar or at one of the well-used wooden dining room tables in this vintage establishment. The black and white TV which appeared... More

I went there with no expectations and I was just blown away with the taste of the food. I went to Crescent City Brewery, Cochon and Gumbo Pot and think this is my favorite. It's also the cheapest. If I were back in NOLA, I'd definately go back.

We came here straight from the airport. We ordered the platter to get to try a bit of everything. The chicken, small piece, was really good. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable but totally great meal.

Every time I am in the area I make a point to eat here for dinner. It's great before the crowd get in. We ate at the bar. The tables are community if you have a small party. I ordered the Crawfish Tasso and an Abita Purple Haze and my dinner was yummy as usual. I have never had a... More

The chicken was fantastic!! I can't recommend this place enough. The duck quesadilla was delicious and everything we ate we enjoyed. We got in very quickly on a Thursday evening around 5:30-6. I am so glad we came because it was one of the best meals of the trip. Worth every penny. We actually considered going back a second time.

Every night the line for coops was a block long. We tried it for lunch and discovered the resturant is very small. We had a sampler great way to try different local foods. The food was average, hot as good as we expected from reviews. The staff was rude and not very welcoming or friendly.

We stopped here for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the food, the atmosphere and the service. We sat in the courtyard it was a beautiful day. We had the avocado shrimp remoulade, it was excellent!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
