Dive bar with excellent fried chicken! Can be packed & loud at time, but it lends to the fun & upbeat vibe. You can get a table or sit at the bar, either way you will be surprised. Definitely not the usual "pub grub." Truly is a must do. Don't wait for your last day in NOLA because you WILL... More

I went to this restaurant for dinner as some of my New Orleans friends recommended it. There was a long line in front of it but since there was seat available at the bar, i was seated right away. I had gumbo and blackened fish. The service was very good, the foods came out very quickly. The gumbo was very... More

The food at Coop's was topped only by the atmosphere. Everything about this restaurant is fantastic! Get the crab claw appetizers, ask your server for entree recommendations, and get to know the people around you! Best dinner of our trip - most fun and most delicious!

This is not a place to go for charming ambience but rather run down shabby chic. Although you get tap water in a glass you can expect to drink your beer straight out of the bottle. We came here because of the chicken and it was great. Do buy the 3 pieces as the 2 piece size is a tad... More

Bustling with brilliant bar staff and darn right delicious food, Coop's is one of those places you won't be able to get enough of. We all know that the people of New Orleans are some of the most accommodating and friendliest on earth and the people of Coop's are no expection with their personable approach and 'always up for a... I have been coming to Coop's for seven years. Every time I visit NOLA I go there for the Fried Chicken and Seafood Gumbo. I was there 4 nights and ate there 4 times! Only wished they had the beer on tap instead of bottles.

Looks can be deceiving. It looks like a dive but the food is amazing and the service is quick and great. The seafood jambalaya is really tasty (if a little hot), and the plain pasta is anything but plain. Be prepared to be scooted out as soon as the check comes though.........there's a line outside waiting for seats. Worth the... More

On our last night in New Orleans and in search of authentic Cajun cuisine we headed to Coops on the recommendation of fellow Trip Advisors. We recommend the duck quesadilla, lamb ribs and fried chicken with Jambalaya. The service was efficient and quick, the atmosphere great, the food was delicious, the cockroaches that ran across our table... not so much... More

Went last night-(07/25) yummy food, great service, friendly staff. So good we went back tonight. Different waitress with an attitude problem. We walked in & stood waiting politely. , She shouted across the room, "tables over there", pointing at two very cramped tables next to a wall. I asked if we could have the same table near the window, which... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
