Good food with true authentic flair. The tables are tight and space is limited. The service was ok, but the food more than made up for it. Great fried chicken!

Coops was recommended to us by a passenger on the Hop on Hop off bus. We were not disappointed. It fits into the style expected in the middle of the French Quarter, not fine dining!! However we had lunch there and apart from a couple of large tables at the rear of the restaurant all seating is on bar stools... More

Stopped by Coop's for lunch on our road trip home. We are very glad we picked to eat here. We ordered the Coop's Taste plate, Cajun Fried Chicken and Grilled Pork Chops. All three were excellent and very filling. You will not be disappointed eating here.

Place can get pretty crowded and cramped so get there early. Food is great, I recommend the fried chicken, creole if you like something spicy, jambalaya, and crab claws. During our week in New Orleans, we went back at least 3 or 4 times.

Excellent food and service. Was placed in group seating which makes you interact with others. Great atmosphere recommended by locals. Not somewhere I would have thought but was pleasantly surprised.

Had a fantastic meal here - authentic Cajun food and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere inside too and really friendly staff. We were lucky to get a table as we hadn't booked, and when we left people were queuing out the door! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting this City

The food was awesome and the guy who served us in Coops was hilarious. He didn't tell us his name but he had some awesome beard stories! Great evening and a nice atmospheric pub.

I think this may be typical for New Orleans, but for me I would not think of this as your typical place one would find great food. But as I have found out, the best places for food are the ones you would never think of. Fried soft-shell crab was great and great recommendations by our waitress for drinks. Everyone... More

Came on recommendation from a local and as it was our first night in New Orleans we took him up on it. We were not disappointed as you have to wait in line outside as it is very popular. The good and service was excellent once we were seated . Give it a try

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
