Don't waste you time. On a non busy Wednesday with three empty four seat tables, we were told there would be a wait. Rest of the Quarter had no wait.

Fortunately we were able to get a table for dinner as the size of this restaurant is very small and half of it is the bar area. But we were delighted and found the place to be authentic 'Norleens' in everyway!! The Gumbo soup was the best!!!

Very laid back and great jambalaya and fried chicken. Go early to avoid the line. Felt like an old hippie dive. If you sit at the bar, you make friends with everyone around you.

Explained as a little Dive bar restaurant with quality casual New Orleans cuisine... It was just as described. The ambience was a smaller TV playing old movies - Playing while we were there: The Adventures of Robin Hood with Errol Flynn (1938). 100%rating on Rotten Tomatoes! :) My Mom loved it in the background. My Mom had the Fried Crawfish... More

It is rustic and the washrooms are ??? but the food is awesome and get there early. The" jambalaya Supreme" is very good, really liked the "Smoke Duck Quesadilla". No desert menu so try the Hot Buttered Rum OMG. We went back a second night

It was OK. Small, dirty little place across from French Market. Nervous to eat there but reviews said great fried chicken. Small wait staff, look 10-15 minutes before anyone came to table. Husband had sampler, he said was ok. Not a lot of real flavor, just a lot of cayenne pepper or something to spice it. Gumbo was not the... More

I almost hate to give it a good review since it is already hard to get in here without a reservation, but I love this place. I've had the fried chicken the Tchoupitoulas chicken. Both were fantastic. And for the French Quarter, the prices are very reasonable. Do not go looking for a fantastic service experience - their staff are... More

Good food, decent service great atmosphere. We were told about the place by a local bartender. Small location with a line at the door. The doorman was great. He reassured us the line moves quick and it did.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
