We had Coop's platter started with Gumbo. Then a little bit of everything comes on this platter! We loved it! Bit spicey but just great! If we ever come again we will eat here again! Place is a little bit on the noisy side but it doesn't matter.

If you are looking for a taste of New Orleans this is the place to go. Try the "taste plate" for a selection of local dishes. It doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let that fool you. It can get busy later in the evening however there seemed to be plenty of tables for couples. Providing there... More

Recommended by a local, we stood in line 15 mins or so to get in even though it was a Sunday, not a problem. Inside the service quality was abysmal, no eye contact, no smiles, it felt as if our being there was an inconvenience to the staff. Food was OK, not as great as expected, delivered within a couple... We were told we must eat at Coop's Place. So we did! Not much of an appearance on the outside left us questioning the inside. We were not disappointed! It was a tiny, dimly lit hole in the wall joint. The place could have used a good wipe down. The bathroom was outside..we think the kitchen was too. The place... More

Coops Place was absolutely amazing! My husband and I LOVE jalapeño poppers and crab meat so when we were scouting the menu we read that they had crab meat stuffed jalapeño poppers and we were completely SOLD! They were delicious, along with our entree, I had the crawfish pasta and it was to die for, so much favor, crawfish, shrimp,... More

Everywhere we went they said coops had the best food but not good service. The food was fabulous, the service was not great. Gumbo, Jambalaya, etc. what you should expect to eat in New Orleans

Service was good and the food was okay. We sat in the back and could see them sorting all of the produce out there. I usually enjoy eating at places known for being "hole in the wall," but I would pass on this one next time.

That was the best place we ate at in New Orleans. Simple, low cost and delicious. The waiter was very entertaining. Telling use to only order the top 5 things on the menu. He also made people turn there phones off and converse or you didnt get to eat. lol

Food was good. We had the taste plate to share for two with extra gumbo and chicken. It was filling and the gumbo was very flavorful. Its a littl spicy for some but it had the perfect kick for me. The jambalaya was very well done, not dry and not too sticky or too "loose". I wish i had ordered... More

Good food and a fun place to take a break and have a drink and a bit to eat. Very pleasant bartender and staff.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
