Children of all ages come away happy if a little messy, We even had snack time in kindergarten, never this good though.

These are the original and are worth the wait. We were unable to get into the ORIGINAL location due to the crowd. Don't be scared off by the line, it moves quickly and the beignets are hot and fresh.

My daughter had beignets from Cafe du Monde as a must-do item while in NOLA. We had stopped by Jackson Square around 9:30 a.m. on a Friday. The (I think) original Cafe du Monde location then had a waiting line about 100 yards long (for...a table?) along the sidewalk, in the sun. We skipped that. Later in the day as an alternate, we walked from our hotel down Poydras Street to the River and, venturing through the hotel there, arrived at the Riverwalk mall. After further hiking, we eventually found their food court, which features a satellite location of Cafe du Monde. There was only one party ahead of us in the line here, plus it was indoors and air-conditioned! My daughter got an order of 3 beignets and we looked for a table but their limited dine-in area was full (of large parties). We found a table in a nearby common area. She had one of the beignets and I tried a bit of a 2nd. Her verdict was that they over-used the powdered sugar and that she'd had a superior beignet in a breakfast place back home. These weren't bad, but were perhaps just over-hyped.More

This was my first time in New Orleans and my Uncle, who went to LSU and Tulane University said I have to try Beignets. Everyone kept telling me they tasted like donuts. When I tried the Beignets at first, I said this does not taste...like a donut. It is NOT Sweet. Someone else said not a donut, Beignets taste like funnel cakes. I started thinking about a funnel cake with powered sugar and this is EXACTLY what a Beignets taste like. Once I changed my mind comparing it to a funnel cake, I enjoyed it even better. After we finished at Café Du Monde we walked on the Riverwalk!More

Same coffee and French beignets as the famous Jackson Square location but with no huge line. You can walk or take the street car here in the amount of time it would take to wait at the French Market location. Great unhealthy snack! Must try.

We walked for a long time to go the highly rated Cafe D M. Long line of customers ND the 2 workers were looking at their phones and were rude. Seating was very limited of course which is understandable. However what turned me off the...most is we arrived a little after they opened and the restaurant floor was disgustingly sticky and dirty. The tables were also dirty and it wasn't just from the few people that sat in front of us. We don't drink coffee so I can't attest for that. The beignets were freshly fried and were fine.More

Cafe Du Monde is open. Due to Covid restrictions, all coffee and beignets are served to go, but you can still sit at the tables.

Everyone you talk to recommends this place. Everyone. No one in line. Cafe au lait (“cafe oh lay”) was good - wish it was a little sweeter. Beignets were fried dough with a metric ton of powdered sugar. Nothing to die for. Service was good...though and coffee was hot.More

Everyone goes to the original location in Jackson Square, but the locals do NOT wish to pay for parking ten blocks away, walk to the original location and stand in a long line. Do like the locals and get your beignets in a more carefree...and laid back environment.More

We were at the French market location yesterday which is a tourist trap— dirty with pigeons and pigeon crap everywhere. This location is inside the Riverwalk with a nice view overlooking the River. Fresh beignets cooked to order at this location with clean tables. Yesterday...at French Market location beignets were previously cooked and kept warm under a hot lamp. Skip the old French Market location and walk over to Riverwalk.More

A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty

Absolutely! You can see the cruise ship right off the deck of Cafe du Monde. There is a mall called Riverwalk that the Cafe Du Monde is inside of. Have fun
