The line was so long to order to-go. I can say that it was worth it though. We walked in the back and sat by the river. Enjoyed the view and the beignets. Delicious! The drinks kept us warm. The one in the park was...way less crowded and equally delicious. There's even one at the airport! So of course we ate all the beignets we could get!More

I was a very long time resident of New Orleans - grew up there. Cafe du Monde in the French quarter was, at the time, a fantastic treat. Steaming hot cafe au lait and incredible beignets. Had been away from the city for a long...time and came back - went to one of my favorite places only to find a miserable excuse for what it had been. No longer any waiters, no actual plates or cups, a tiny take-out window with what used to be some of the best coffee anywhere seved in paper cups and beignets in a paper bag. A complete loss of character as well as funky tasting excuse for coffee au lait. Beignets were still okay; that's about the only positive thing I can report of this visit. The lovely indoor area that used to have tables/chairs was crowded with storage junk and supplies. A really sad loss of an age-old "tradition" of New Orleans.More

This location has such a horrible ordering system. The line wasn't long but our beignets took forever. The beignets were still good but the service is not the best.

This is the Cafe du Monde location to go to avoid long lines. It is also a nice walk along the riverfront to get to the riverfront mall where it is located. I always order beignets without sugar which they do serve hot and fresh....Always a bit too dense but tasty and among the best in NOLA.More

When in New Orleans you MUST get beignets! However, skip this place and go to the “real” Cafe Du Monde in the French Market. The staff was extremely unprofessional. Loud, yelling at each (and NOT in a playful banter way) and could not get the...simplest orders correct. … and beignets were subpar. Overall not a good experience and does not hold up to the Cafe Du Monde namesake. If you never had Cafe Du Monde - do NOT go here.More

Found this location to be just as tasty without the long lines at Decatur Street. The chicory coffee was good hot and frozen. The beignets we hot and fresh.

Very good-a little greasy-a lot smaller than pieces from another beignet place. We had to try the famous chain. While good, it wasn’t the best we have tried.

During the Jazz Fesitval this year (2022) it seemed they were making Beignets as fast as they could all day long and all night long. The "Original" fried bread treat now costs three times what they did just a few years ago, but we didn't...mind much. After walking the Quarter all day long it was nice to relax to some authentic street music, Beignets and hot chocolate (or coffee if you prefer) and just take in the ambiance. The table and chairs were a little dirty but they were doing their best to keep up with the amazing post-Covid traffic.More

Definitely go in order to try out the fresh beignets, which are hot, fluffy and tasty, but if you are looking for somewhere with a little more 'atmosphere', I believe there is a flagship location. I was a little surprised when I realized the 'riverwalk'...was basically a shopping mall. However, we were able to sit outside by the river to enjoy the view as we ate. The coffee was nothing special, but that's not why we were there. There will be a pretty long line, but it moved pretty fast.More

This place should be a must on anyone's travel list. The beignet's are delicious, and the chicory coffee will wake you up dern near instantly just by smelling it lol As "touristy" as it is, it has some of the best beignets in the city.

I often went to the cafe when I was in college in New Orleans. It was open all day and almost all night. They brought fluffy coffee in white cups with saucers and beignets on white plates to our table. We never had to wait...in line, even though the place was busy. But now? You have to wait, take paper cups of coffee and paper plates of beignets to a messy, sugary table surrounded by people all talking loudly. Not recommended.More

There's not a lot of places in the area to get cheap breakfast, so I stopped here for a few beignets one Saturday morning. The line was at least 30 deep. I revisited just before noon and there was no line. Taste the same as...the original location.More

A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living

Absolutely! You can see the cruise ship right off the deck of Cafe du Monde. There is a mall called Riverwalk that the Cafe Du Monde is inside of. Have fun
