While in New Orleans we decided to try out Melba's which seemed to have great reviews and was recommended. I really wanted to experience a great po boy but was not impressed by lack of hospitality and help that was offered. Not one employee greeted...us or told us where to go or what to do and trying to get some assistance was a bit of a task. Being from out of town and not knowing the ordering set up of Melba's or being able to get assistance as to what to order or what comes on a po boy, etc, we were left to ordering on our own. The po boy, burger, and fries we ordered were bland and luke warm/cold. It seemed more like a hassle. And when our order was ready, our name was yelled out and the food was just given to us without a thanks. We had to remind him that we ordered drinks since they were not given to us with our food. Then to top it off....our food was not as we order or expected. I'm a little disappointed with this experience at Melba's. Maybe just maybe we'll think about giving them another try if we're in New Orleans again.More

Absolutely delicious! We always have to stop by if we're in town. The best place in town hands down for poboys!

We made it back to Melba's!!!!. We were here six months ago and I forgot my bread pudding. They didn't have the pudding this time but I had the fudge cake (sooo good but my husband had to come back for it. It was left...on top of the counter) I can't get enough of their rice and beans with wings and cornbread. And also had the 9th ward Gumbo, also delicious! We will be back again next time we are in townMore

Complete waste of my time. I ordered one shrimp po boy and waited an HOUR before I decided to say something. 2 different ladies told me it’s coming and one guy was actually nice and looked into it for me. He was about to give...me my food when I asked for a refund because my friends had long since finished eating. Then he gives me attitude saying I should have said that before hand so I wouldn’t waste food? I couldn’t believe it. Gave me my money back, no sandwich, after an hour. Absolute clown show in there.More

Great southern comfort food with a Cajun flair in a non-traditional setting not far from the French Quarter and Theatre district

The poboys are good, actually really good. Unfortunately, this review is about their lack of any customer service. We ordered two poboys last night via their website for pickup, which we have done many times. When we got home they gave us the wrong sandwiches....We called and explained and we were told: "just come in tomorrow and we can refund your card or give you the correct food." Just to be certain I asked again. "No Problem". We went in today to correct the situation and guess what. PROBLEM! I was told "well I wasn't here last night so I have no idea what you are talking about" and "you should have brought back the sandwiches" after I explained again what I was told last night, she just shrugged. So apparently either the person last night was just trying to get us off the phone or the person today couldn't be bothered. Either way, we are out $35 dollars.More

We went to Melba’s because we heard the crawfish was amazing and boy did it live up to it....I’m not a big fan of the traditional New Orleans dishes such as gumbo, etoufee etc... But I love seafood so I decided to check it out...I am so glad I did it !! at five dollars a pound the crawfish was flavored throughout, it was hot, came out as a quick order. Just enough seasoning..They also sell what they call daiquiris but we will consider a slushy with liquor in Jersey and each day the daiquiris have a different special we happen to go on the day were the daiquiris were only one dollar for 12 oz.... they have all different cool flavor combos..... Well all I’m going to say is I left out of there very happy .....I was very unhappy in NOLA til I went there, can’t wait to go back!!More
