So we came in at 730- two big tables were there ahead of us- we did not get served until 9- we were annoyed, but having a good time with each other so not as snarky as we might have been otherwise. They apologized and...gave us some great desserts- creme brule that was good, a bread pudding with vanilla ice cream that had a very good bourbon sauce on it and a thing that had too much whip cream. Our main dishes- the steak was fabulous- great cut, perfectly cooked. My fish amandine was ok, but not wonderful- and I think it had been sitting around- it was warm, not hot. The pizza one of us ordered was very good- sort of Chicago deep dish style- my Caesar salad, unremarkable. It was a good meal- but I am under the impression they are supposed to be an excellent place- and for us, they were just very good. Kind people though and they tried hard to make it up to us for leaving us sit so long-- and while we appreciated, the fact is that wait was over the top late. Wine by the glass ok but not a lot of choices. I couldn't decide if this was supposed to be a family restaurant or haut -cuisine or both. I liked it, I would go back and give it another chance to do a brava performance- but this time I would just give it a B plus.More

As soon as you walk in the aroma will activate your appetite. There were so many delicious dishes being served. I had the Filet which was a very delicious steak. The servers were very friendly and made you feel as though you knew them forever....Definitely stop in when you’re in NOLA.More

I have been an on again off again patron of Tommy's. I had been more off than on since around late September. I stopped in during MardiGras seson nd the new menu ws amazing. I had slacked on visiting becuse of the wait time for...meals. To my surprise I had a speedy delivery steaming hot and well plated. I asked my server about the changes for the better no doubt and I was informed they had a new kitchen Chef and I quote " who is on it". I tip my hat Tommy's for all the imrpovements in the right direction. I've been back twice and raved to friends and coworkers about Tommy's being a must visit spot.More

Great brunch spot before heading to the Fair Grounds. Had a wonderful time with my wife's boss and family. Everyone was pleasant and the food was delicious. Highly recommend this Italian spot.

My husband and I could not be more grateful to Barbara and the wonderful staff at Tommy's for helping us out when my husband had a mobility problem that made it impossible for us to make it to our originally reserved restaurant. Due to traffic...and parade blockages, we had to walk several blocks and when my husband could proceed no further, Tommy's took us in, gave us a table and made us feel completely welcome! We were able to watch the Proteus parade while enjoying some outstanding Italian food. It made what could have been a disastrous evening a totally marvelous and memorable one instead! We are very grateful and we will certainly recommend Tommy's to our friends visiting New Orleans!More

We were seated in the large room in the middle of the restaurant. Our server was promptly asking for drink orders and everyone provided what they wanted. For dinner I chose the Veal Parmigian on Angel Hair pasta. It was good, a little heavy on...the Oregano but I ate the whole thing and it was a large portion. The other meal that was popular was the Red Fish special at our table. It looked good and everyone that had it loved it.More

New Orleans has a long tradition in Italian food, mostly from the South. This upscale white tablecloth restaurant in the central business district has been there for years, and it is the real thing. Food and service were excellent, and the prices are moderate. A...good choice for a quiet evening with friends.More

Went out with another couple on a weeknight for a late dinner (after 8pm). Service started off well- drinks and food arrived timely but after the food arrived, the only time we saw our waiter again was to drop the check out. I had the...lasagna and the rest of the group got appetizers- my food was super cold on the inside so that was very disappointing. Once the waiter brought our check, we sat for over 15 minutes waiting for him to return. He was having conversation with other staff members and so we went to the bar to take care of our tab. The restaurant was not busy at all as we would have understood if there if it was.More

Table for six celebrating wife's birthday, sat down at 7:15pm with appetizers arriving around 8:15pm. Brought hot bread but server forgot about offering any oil/cheese/butter - had to ask. Refills on drinks never offered, always had to ask. Entrees arrived around 8:45pm and two of...the six meals (should have been three) were returned due to the temperature of the food was on the cool side. Interesting thing here, it was the green beans that were cold but rather than just bring out another side of beans, the server insisted on taking back the whole plate. By the time the plates were returned, most of us were already finished eating our entrees.More

I go to Tommy's each time in NOLA. When my friends get the first couple of NO nights under their belts and want a high quality Italian meal and experience in a casual and cozy environment, off we go. Never a disappointment. They can even...make chicken taste great. The fine tuning of their sauces for over 20 years has resulted in a fine, rich and complimentary taste to any of their dishes. Let their experienced staff be your guide. If dining at the bar, the barkeep is a smart, savy and friendly compliment, besides being a great bartender. Nice, calm and quiet there. CheersMore

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
